Improvements and persistent biases in the southeast tropical Atlantic in CMIP models
State-of-the-art climate models simulate warmer than observed sea surface temperatures (SST) in eastern boundary upwelling systems (EBUS), generating biases with profound implications for the simulation of present-day climate and its future projections ...

Antioxidants and Therapeutic Targets in Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma
Ovarian clear cell carcinomas (OCCCs) are resistant to conventional anti-cancer drugs; moreover, the prognoses of advanced or recurrent patients are extremely poor. OCCCs often arise from endometriosis associated with strong oxidative stress.

Genetic differentiation and adaptive evolution of buff‐tailed bumblebees in Asia
This study investigates the genetic differentiation and local adaptation of the buff‐tailed bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) across its European and Asian populations. Using whole‐genome resequencing, we identified distinct genetic differences between populations, with Asian B. terrestris representing a unique genetic resource.

The Swimming Setae of Daphnia carinata [PDF]
ABSTRACT The structure, renewal, embryonic development, and regeneration of the swimming setae of Daphnia carinata are described. Each seta is formed by four giant cells, two (the core cells) forming the distal segment, and two (the sheath cells) the proximal segment. The inner ends of these cells extend back, as the seta strand, through

The predatory behavior of ants: an impressive panoply of morphological adaptations
This review focuses on predation in ants, showing the wide diversity of cases from solitary foraging to group hunting tactics, as well as the evolution of mandible shape frequently adapted to capture specific prey. Although most ants are generalist feeders, finding their sugary substances directly on plants or indirectly via sap‐sucking insects, some ...
