Brainstem anaesthesia after retrobulbar block

open access: yesOpen Medicine, 2019
Regional anaesthesia techniques in ophthalmology are usually utilized for day case surgery. During various procedures, profound akinesia of the eye and anaesthesia of the surgical site are required, both of which are achieved with retrobulbar block.

Neuron‐Derived Vesicular circMagi1 Restrains Vascular Repair After Ischemic Stroke by Promoting TRIM65‐Mediated ANXA2 Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After ischemic stroke, injured neurons transfer circMagi1 to endothelial cells through extracellular vesicles. Within endothelial cells, circMagi1 binds ANXA2 and enhances its engagement with TRIM65, promoting ANXA2 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation to constrain angiogenic repair.

ERα–PADI4–CXCL8 Axis Drives MDSC‐Mediated Immune Evasion in Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MAPK‐driven ligand‐independent ERα activation drives PADI4 transcription and translation. This enzyme then modifies CXCL8 chemokines through citrullination, generating a potent chemoattractant gradient specifically for myeloid‐derived suppressor cells.

Preparation and Physicochemical Properties of High-Temperature-Resistant Polymer Gel Resin Composite Plugging Material

open access: yesGels
Lost circulation has become one of the important problems restricting the speed and efficiency of oil and gas drilling and production. To address severe drilling fluid losses in high-temperature fractured formations during deep/ultra-deep well drilling ...

Low‐Intensity Ultrasound‐Triggered Microbubble Cavitation Attenuates Diabetic Kidney Injury Partially by Reversing Endothelial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Non‐invasive low‐intensity pulsed ultrasound ‐triggered cavitation of clinically approved diagnostic‐grade microbubbles delivers favorable mechanical stimuli to renal microvasculature. This intervention restores renal microvascular homeostasis, alleviates DKD‐associated histological and functional damage, and suppresses inflammatory and fibrotic ...

Decoding the evolutionary history of ST30 Staphylococcus aureus: insights into a potentially silent MSSA bloodstream pathogen

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
BackgroundStaphylococcus aureus clonal complex 30 (CC30) is a historically significant pathogen affecting both hospital and community settings. The notable pandemic clones, phage-type 80/81 (PT80/81) and the Southwest Pacific clone (SWP) have spread ...

A Spatiotemporal Single‐Cell Atlas Uncovers Dysregulated ECM Dynamics and Septal Remodeling Arrest in Human Ventricular Septal Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrating single‐cell and spatial transcriptomics reveals human ventricular septal defect (VSD) as a disease of microenvironmental insufficiency and structural remodeling arrest. Attenuated endothelial‐fibroblast crosstalk, alongside downregulated THBS1/TGF‐β1 and MMP2 signaling networks, impairs the endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndoMT) and
