FAM20C Modulates Neuronal Differentiation in Hypoxic–Ischemic Brain Damage via KAP1 Phosphorylation and LINE1 RNA m6A‐Dependent H3K9me3 Regulation

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
FAM20C regulates the composition of the YTHDC1‐NCL‐KAP1‐LINE1 RNAs complex, thereby affecting neuronal differentiation in hypoxic–ischemic brain damage (HIBD). ABSTRACT Neurodevelopmental impairment due to hypoxic–ischemic brain damage (HIBD) lacks effective biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Clinical whole genome sequencing in pediatric epilepsy: Genetic and phenotypic spectrum of 733 individuals

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective A large proportion of pediatric epilepsies have an underlying genetic etiology. Limited studies have explored the efficacy of whole genome sequencing (WGS) in a clinical setting. Our academic–clinical center implemented clinical whole exome sequencing (WES) in 2014, then transitioned to WGS from 2015.

Cell type mapping of mild malformations of cortical development with oligodendroglial hyperplasia in epilepsy using single‐nucleus multiomics

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Mild malformations of cortical development with oligodendroglial hyperplasia in epilepsy (MOGHE) are brain lesions associated with focal epilepsy and characterized by increased oligodendroglial density, heterotopic neurons, and hypomyelination in the white matter.

The human photosensitive epilepsy model for clinical proof‐of‐principle trials of novel antiseizure medications. 1. Use of the EEG in drug development and characteristics of the model

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Clinical development of novel antiseizure medications (ASMs) would benefit from an early proof‐of‐principle (POP) model. The photosensitivity model, which uses the photoparoxysmal electroencephalography (EEG) response (PPR) as a surrogate for seizures, is currently the only human model that allows POP trials of investigational compounds after ...

Acute neurologic presentation of a 2‐year‐old standardbred colt with multicentric diffuse large B cell lymphoma

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary Lymphoma in horses is uncommon and rarely diagnosed as a cause of ataxia. This case report describes a 2‐year‐old Standardbred cryptorchid colt who presented with acute onset of grade 3–4/5 spinal ataxia in all four limbs, with the hindlimbs more severely affected than forelimbs and severe proprioceptive deficits.
