Questionnaire Study on the Treatment of Females with Sex Chromosome Aberrations [PDF]

LEARNING DISORDERS AND SEX CHROMOSOME ABERRATIONS
Journal of Intellectual Disability Research, 1980No sex chromosome aberrations were detected in a prospective study of twenty adult dyslexic men. A retrospective study of eighty-nine subjects with known sex chromosome aberrations revealed twenty of them to be mentally-retarded. Among the sixty-nine subjects of normal intelligence, learning, speech and attention disorders were frequent.

Early Development of Children with Sex Chromosome Aberrations
Pediatrics, 1978A prospective study was made of 42 children who were found at birth to have sex chromosome aberrations. The mean developmental quotient of the XXY and XXX groups was in the dull-normal range, whereas developmental quotients of 3 XYY children were low normal.

Abnormal Basal Angle of the Skull in Sex Chromosome Aberrations
Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1976The basal angle was measured on skull films in 252 patients with hormonal disorders and sex chromosome aberrations. In cases of hormonal disturbance the basal angle was normal. In patients with Turner's syndrome (45,X chromosomes) the basal angle was enlarged while in patients with Klinefelter's syndrome (47,XXY chromosomes) and in those with extra X ...

Sister chromatid exchanges and structural chromosome aberrations in relation to age and sex
Human Genetics, 1982Sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) and structural chromosome aberrations were analyzed in peripheral blood lymphocytes of 100 individuals, and correlated to age and sex. No correlation was found between the frequency of SCE and age, but older individuals had significantly more structural aberrations than younger.

Analysis of sex chromosomal numerical aberrations in human astrocytomas by FISH
International Journal of Oncology, 1997Although sex chromosomal aberrations in astrocytomas have been frequently reported by cytogeneticists, their biologic significance is still unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate sex chromosomal aberrations of astrocytomas by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and to determine whether there is a relationship between these aberrations ...

Age-related effects on sex chromosome aberrations in equine spermatozoa
Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, 2014Many chromosomal anomalies resulting from meiotic disorders lead to the formation of gametes that are incapable of reproductive function and are spontaneously eliminated. However, formation of a zygote with structurally or numerically abnormal genome most often produces a lethal effect early in fetal life.

Sex chromosome aberrations involving loss and translocation of tumor-inducing loci inXiphophorus
Experientia, 1979Karyotypic changes involving a deletion and a translocation of certain sex-linked tumor-inducing loci of the platyfish, Platypoecilus (Xiphophorus) maculatus, have been investigated. The effects of these chromosome aberrations on tumor formation and viability of the fish are discussed.

Mental illness and sex chromosome aberration: renewed interest in light of a current survey
Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica, 1984ABSTRACT– Chromosome determination in 134 men with psychotic disorder revealed sex chromosome aberrations in three patients: one with karyotype 47, XXY, one with 47, XXY/46. XY, and one with 46, XY/45, XO. The frequency of sex chromosome changes in our population (2 %) was significantly increased compared to that, in newborns.

Reproduction in Domestic Animals, 2011
ContentsThe aim of this study was a cytogenetic analysis of stallions semen to find sex chromosome aberrations and to determine if there was an association between stallion’s age and aberration frequency for the sex chromosomes. Sperm samples were collected from 22 stallions of various age from 3 to 23 years.
