LEARNING DISORDERS AND SEX CHROMOSOME ABERRATIONS
Journal of Intellectual Disability Research, 1980No sex chromosome aberrations were detected in a prospective study of twenty adult dyslexic men. A retrospective study of eighty-nine subjects with known sex chromosome aberrations revealed twenty of them to be mentally-retarded. Among the sixty-nine subjects of normal intelligence, learning, speech and attention disorders were frequent.

Early Development of Children with Sex Chromosome Aberrations
Pediatrics, 1978A prospective study was made of 42 children who were found at birth to have sex chromosome aberrations. The mean developmental quotient of the XXY and XXX groups was in the dull-normal range, whereas developmental quotients of 3 XYY children were low normal.

Numerical Sex Chromosome Aberrations and Abnormal Sex Development in Horse and Sheep
Sexual Development, 2009Gonadal dysgenesis and heterosexual conditions are often associated with sex chromosome abnormalities. In this study we report on 2 cases of abnormal sex development involving numerical sex chromosome aberrations in both horse and sheep. A 17-month-old Standardbred filly was sent to an equine fertility centre as an embryo donor due to its reduced size,

Sex-chromosome aberrations in wood lemmings (Myopus schisticolor).
Cytogenetics and cell genetics, 2007The wood lemming displays certain peculiar features: (1) The sex ratio shows a prevalence of females (FRANK, 1966; KALELA and OKSALA, 1966), and some females produce only female offspring (KALELA and OKSALA, 1966). (2) In a considerable proportion (in the present material, slightly less than half) of the females, an XY chromosome complement is found in

Abnormal Basal Angle of the Skull in Sex Chromosome Aberrations
Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1976The basal angle was measured on skull films in 252 patients with hormonal disorders and sex chromosome aberrations. In cases of hormonal disturbance the basal angle was normal. In patients with Turner's syndrome (45,X chromosomes) the basal angle was enlarged while in patients with Klinefelter's syndrome (47,XXY chromosomes) and in those with extra X ...

The Mental Implications of Sex Chromosome Aberrations
British Journal of Psychiatry, 1970I have chosen as the subject for my Blake Marsh Lecture the influence of sex chromosome aberrations on intelligence, mental health and social adjustment. This subject provides a fascinating example of how a branch of research, beginning in the field of mental retardation, arrived at discoveries which proved to be of significance to quite other fields ...

Analysis of sex chromosomal numerical aberrations in human astrocytomas by FISH
International Journal of Oncology, 1997Although sex chromosomal aberrations in astrocytomas have been frequently reported by cytogeneticists, their biologic significance is still unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate sex chromosomal aberrations of astrocytomas by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and to determine whether there is a relationship between these aberrations ...
