ABSTRACTIntroductionFemale sexual dysfunction (FSD) affects 33–48% of women. Female rats with low sexual activity might model FSD.AimIn this study, we have investigated whether in a population of normal female rats, subpopulations of rats exist with different levels of sexual behavior.MethodsSexually experienced, intact, estradiol-primed female rats ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Mpox Epidemiology and Risk Factors, Nigeria, 2022
To investigate epidemiology of and risk factors for laboratory-confirmed mpox during the 2022 outbreak in Nigeria, we enrolled 265 persons with suspected mpox. A total of 163 (61.5%) were confirmed to have mpox; 137 (84.0%) were adults, 112 (68.7%) male,

Multiple Signaling Functions Of Song In A Polymorphic Species With Alternative Reproductive Strategies [PDF]
Vocal traits can be sexually selected to reflect male quality, but may also evolve to serve additional signaling functions. We used a long-term dataset to examine the signaling potential of song in dimorphic white-throated sparrows (Zonotrichia ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Multimodal characterization of Yucatan minipig behavior and physiology through maturation
Brain injuries induced by external forces are particularly challenging to model experimentally. In recent decades, the domestic pig has been gaining popularity as a highly relevant animal model to address the pathophysiological mechanisms and the ...

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Sexually Dimorphic Effect of Environmental Enrichment and Weaning on Stress in Piglets
Most intensive swine production systems use invasive practices that increase stress and compromise animal welfare. Apparently, the way in which animals respond to stress is sexually dimorphic.
