SEXUAL SIZE DIMORPHISM IN STONE MARTEN (MARTES FOINA, ERXL. 1777) FROM SARNENA SREDNA GORA MTS (BULGARIA) [PDF]
Sexual dimorphism in body size measurements of 65 stone martens was investigated in winter periods (10.12.- 01.03) 2013 to 2017. There was found sexual dimorphism in body size of Stone Marten from Central Bulgaria: males were larger than females.

Sexual Dimorphism in Homo erectus Inferred from 1.5 Ma Footprints Near Ileret, Kenya [PDF]
Sexual dimorphism can be one of the most important indicators of social behavior in fossil species, but the effects of time averaging, geographic variation, and differential preservation can complicate attempts to determine this measure from preserved ...

MORPHOLOGY, REPRODUCTION, SEASONAL ACTIVITY AND HABITAT USE OF A NORTHERN POPULATION OF THE SMOOTH GREENSNAKE (OPHEODRYS VERNALIS) [PDF]
The Smooth Greensnake (Opheodrys vernalis) is a small, slender, oviparous, colubrid snake that is widely distributed in North America. Nonetheless, there have been few studies on this species, and little is known about Canadian populations. The objective

Sex differences in selection arise for at least two possible reasons: (1) differences originating from anisogamy—the Darwin‐Bateman paradigm—and (2) competition‐driven ecological character displacement (ECD), agnostic of anisogamy.

Dimorphism in quaternary scelidotheriinae (mammalia, xenarthra, phyllophaga) [PDF]
The contributions concerning possible cases of sexual dimorphisms in fossil and living sloths are scarce. Until now, studies in fossil ground sloth sexual dimorphism have been limited to the subfamilies Megatheriinae (Eremotherium) and Mylodontinae ...

Filling the gaps in ecology of tropical tiger beetles (Coleoptera: Cicindelidae): first quantitative data of sexual dimorphism in semi-arboreal Therates from the Philippine biodiversity hotspot [PDF]
Background Sexual dimorphism, driven by sexual selection, leads to varied morphological distinctions in male and female insects, providing insights into selection pressures across species. However, research on the morphometric variability within specific

Sex-biased parental care and sexual size dimorphism in a provisioning arthropod [PDF]
The diverse selection pressures driving the evolution of sexual size dimorphism (SSD) have long been debated. While the balance between fecundity selection and sexual selection has received much attention, explanations based on sex-specific ecology have ...

Genetic Constraints and the Evolution of Display Trait Sexual Dimorphism by Natural and Sexual Selection. [PDF]
The evolution of sexual dimorphism involves an interaction between sex-specific selection and a breakdown of genetic constraints that arise because the two sexes share a genome.

Symmetry is related to sexual dimorphism in faces: data across culture and species. [PDF]
Many animals both display and assess multiple signals. Two prominently studied traits are symmetry and sexual dimorphism, which, for many animals, are proposed cues to heritable fitness benefits. These traits are associated with other potential benefits,
