[Infrared spectrum analysis of SF6 and SF6 decomposition].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2015Pressured SF6 gas is widely used in GIS for electrical insulation as well as for are extinction. And a chemical way for detecting the SF6 and its byproducts is a powerful diagnosis method for GIS. The present paper analyzes the decomposition of insulated gas of GIS (mostly SF6) in three cases with infrared spectrometer.

Breakdown Strength of N2-SF6 Gas Mixtures Containing 10% and 5% SF6 Compared with pure SF6
2001SF6 as insulating gas has a very good dielectric strength. Therefore, SF6 is used in many applications. Nowadays, it is investigated again whether SF6-N2 mixtures can replace pure SF6 in for example gas-insulated substations and lines. For pure SF6 the optimal gas pressure varies between 4 and 6 bar.

On the replacement of SF6 by air in internal arc testing of MV SF6 insulated switchgear
IET Conference Publications, 2009Internal arc tests are intended to verify the effectiveness of switchgear design in protecting personnel in case of an internal arc. With the IEC 62271-200 & 201 in 2003, new methods and criteria for testing metal/insulation enclosed switchgear under conditions of an internal arc have been formulated.

Vibrational hyperpolarizability of SF6
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1988Expressions are derived for the vibrational second hyperpolarizability γv of SF6, in the static limit and for the nonlinear-optical processes of the dc Kerr effect, electric-field-induced second harmonic generation (ESHG), and third harmonic generation (THG). These expressions give γv in terms of vibrational transition dipole, polarizability, and first

Low SF6 concentration SF6 / N2 Mixtures for GIL
1998Environment concerns have led Electricite de France to consider the use of low-SF6content SF6/N2 mixtures for the development of 400 kV Gas Insulated Line technology dedicated to the underground parts of OHL links.

Critical properties of CO2, CHF3, SF6, (CO2+ CHF3), and (CHF3+ SF6)
The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1998Abstract Measurements of the critical properties p c , ρ c , and T c for the pure substances CO 2 , CHF 3 , SF 6 , and for (CO 2 + CHF 3 ) and (CHF 3 + SF 6 ) were performed by observation of the critical opalescence in a static equilibrium cell. The experimental data were compared to values given in the literature. The experimental results for the

Electron attachment and electron impact ionization of SF6 and SF6/Ar clusters
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1988Electron attachment and electron impact ionization of SF6 and SF6/Ar clusters have been investigated in a molecular beam/electron impact ion source/mass spectrometer system. Positive ion mass spectra of neat SF6 clusters contain [(SF6)n⋅SFx]+ fragment ion series with 0≤x≤5 and in addition [(SF6)nS2F5]+ ions which have to be formed via international ion

A Study of Prebreakdown in SF6
1998This work is a continuation of work presented earlier for nitrogen and dry air1, and deals with a time-resolved study of the prebreakdown phase in SF 6. the goal of this work is to develop and verify discharge models for practical insulating geometries on the basis of physical discharge processes.

Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) is the gaseous dielectric the most widely used in high-voltage and very-high-voltage electrical equipment. As SF6 is a synthetic gas that is expensive and could have a non negligible impact on environment, the current trend is to reduce its quantity in electrical equipment by mixing it with natural gases such as air or N2 ...
