Breakdown Mechanism of Different Sulphur Hexafluoride Gas Mixtures

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) gas and SF6 gas mixtures are widely used in gas-insulated systems (GIS) because they have good dielectric and thermal properties.

Adsorption study of SF6 molecules on Pt-doped two-dimensional material Ti3C2Tx Mxene

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
In this paper, the effects of transition metal atom Pt doping on the structural parameters and electronic properties of the two-dimensional material Ti3C2Tx MXene (T = OH, O or F) as well as the adsorption interaction between the doped material and SF6 ...

Understanding and Circumventing Failure Mechanisms in Chalcogenide Optical Phase Change Material Ge2Sb2Se4Te

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 8, March 13, 2025.
Chalcogenide optical PCMs have gathered interest for their potential in compact, non‐volatile optics and photonics. Free‐space PCM metasurfaces require new considerations from phase change memory that need to be addressed for reliable scale‐up. Several failure mechanisms pertaining to free‐space PCM devices and layout methods are isolated to prevent ...

Versatile Control of Spectral Emissivity in Mid‐Infrared Metasurfaces via Silicon Microstructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A family of metasurfaces is obtained very simply, solely through the structuration of a single‐crystal silicon surface, without any other material involved. Based on the infrared plasmonic behavior of highly doped silicon, further control of surface topography by micro‐ and nano‐structuration is found to enable an avenue of options toward tailoring its

Engineering nano-trap distribution in metal-organic frameworks enables boost of SF6/N2 separation

open access: yesGreen Chemical Engineering
Separating/capturing SF6, having the strongest global warming potential, from exhaust gas with low concentration (1%–10%) in the power industry is significant for both greenhouse gas emission control and SF6 recycling and reutilization. In this study, we

Effect of trace SF6 on negative corona characteristics in SF6/N2 gas mixtures under DC voltages

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Corona discharge will affect the performance of insulating gas, threatening the safe and reliable operation of gas-insulated power equipment. In this paper, we investigate the negative corona characteristics in SF6/N2 gas mixtures with trace SF6 [φ(SF6) ≤

High resolution threshold photoelectron spectroscopy by electron attachment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A system is provided for determining the stable energy levels of a species ion, of an atomic, molecular, or radical type, by application of ionizing energy of a predetermined level, such as through photoionization.

Atwood ratio dependence of Richtmyer-Meshkov flows under reshock conditions using large-eddy simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We study the shock-driven turbulent mixing that occurs when a perturbed planar density interface is impacted by a planar shock wave of moderate strength and subsequently reshocked.

Transparent Transfer‐Free Ultrasmall Multilayer Graphene Microelectrodes Enable High Quality Recordings in Brain Slices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transfer‐free fabrication method enables multilayer graphene microelectrodes as small as 10 µm, eliminating reliability issues of manual graphene transfer. These electrodes record neural activity in brain slices with exceptional signal‐to‐noise ratios (up to 25–40 dB) while maintaining optical transparency for multimodal applications.
