Dielectric breakdown properties of CF3I-N2 mixtures containing a small amount of SF6

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
CF3I-N2 mixtures have garnered much attention as potential SF6-substitutes due to their excellent dielectric strengths, and the dielectric strength of SF6-N2 mixtures has a good synergy effect. This paper attempts to propose an approach of adding a small

Decomposition Characteristics of SF6 and Partial Discharge Recognition under Negative DC Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Four typical types of artificial defects are designed in conducting the decomposition experiments of SF6 gas to obtain and understand the decomposition characteristics of SF6 gas-insulated medium under different types of negative DC partial discharge (DC-

Effect of trace SF6 on negative corona characteristics in SF6/N2 gas mixtures under DC voltages

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Corona discharge will affect the performance of insulating gas, threatening the safe and reliable operation of gas-insulated power equipment. In this paper, we investigate the negative corona characteristics in SF6/N2 gas mixtures with trace SF6 [φ(SF6) ≤

Adsorption study of SF6 molecules on Pt-doped two-dimensional material Ti3C2Tx Mxene

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
In this paper, the effects of transition metal atom Pt doping on the structural parameters and electronic properties of the two-dimensional material Ti3C2Tx MXene (T = OH, O or F) as well as the adsorption interaction between the doped material and SF6 ...

The novel properties of SF$_6$ for directional dark matter experiments

open access: yes, 2016
SF$_{6}$ is an inert and electronegative gas that has a long history of use in high voltage insulation and numerous other industrial applications. Although SF$_{6}$ is used as a trace component to introduce stability in tracking chambers, its highly ...

Capacitively Coupled SF6, SF6/O2, SF6/CH4 Plasma Etchingof Acrylic at Low Vacuum Pressure

open access: yesKorean Journal of Materials Research, 2009
This study investigated dry etching of acrylic in capacitively coupled SF , SF /O and SF /CH plasma under a low vacuum pressure. The process pressure was 100 mTorr and the total gas flow rate was fixed at 10 sccm. The process variables were the RIE chuck power and the plasma gas composition. The RIE chuck power varied in the range of 25~150 W.

Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) tracer technique

open access: yesMethods in cattle physiology and behaviour – Recommendations from the SmartCow consortium., 2020
A further method for measuring methane production is the sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆) tracer technique, which requires inserting a known quantity of the inert tracer into the rumen. The use of the SF₆ tracer technique to quantify enteric CH4 emissions from grazing ruminants was pioneered by Zimmerman and Johnson.

Multi‐Dielectric Metasurfaces for Ultrabright, Tunable Structural Color and Reconfigurable Optical Filtering with Extraordinarily Large Color Span

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Structural color generation is an emerging field for digital display and printing applications. This report presents a novel truncated‐cone design and the first use of GaP sandwiched between two layers of TiO2, demonstrating ultra‐bright, tunable colors with a record color gamut.

Characterization of Shigella flexneri serotype 6 strains from geographically diverse low- and middle-income countries

open access: yesmBio
Shigella flexneri serotype 6 (Sf6) is one of the most common serotypes recovered from surveillance studies of moderate to severe diarrhea. Despite the clinical significance of Sf6, this serotype is understudied.

Transparent Transfer‐Free Ultrasmall Multilayer Graphene Microelectrodes Enable High Quality Recordings in Brain Slices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transfer‐free fabrication method enables multilayer graphene microelectrodes as small as 10 µm, eliminating reliability issues of manual graphene transfer. These electrodes record neural activity in brain slices with exceptional signal‐to‐noise ratios (up to 25–40 dB) while maintaining optical transparency for multimodal applications.
