Structural term extraction for expansion of template-based genomic queries [PDF]
This paper describes our experiments run to address the ad hoc task of the TREC 2005 Genomics track. The task topics were expressed with 5 different structures called Generic Topic Templates (GTTs). We hypothesized the presence of GTT-specific structural

Human histidine‐rich glycoprotein expressed in SF9 insect cells inhibits apatite formation
Histidine‐rich glycoprotein (HRG) is structurally related to the α2‐HS glycoprotein/fetuin family of mammalian plasma proteins; both belong to the cystatin superfamily of proteins. We expressed recombinant human HRG and α2‐HS in Sf9 insect cells for functional analysis. Recombinant HRG bound heparin and fibrinogen while α2‐HS did not.

Protection against myxomatosis and rabbit viral hemorrhagic disease with recombinant myxoma viruses expressing rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus capsid protein [PDF]
Two myxoma virus-rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) recombinant viruses were constructed with the SG33 strain of myxoma virus to protect rabbits against myxomatosis and rabbit viral hemorrhagic disease.

Subunit interactions within the Saccharomyces cerevisiae DNA polymerase ε (pol ε) complex - Demonstration of a dimeric pol ε [PDF]
Saccharomyces cerevisiae DNA polymerase epsilon (pol ε) is essential for chromosomal replication. A major form of pol ε purified from yeast consists of at least four subunits: Pol2p, Dpb2p, Dpb3p, and Dpb4p.

Active depinning of bacterial droplets: the collective surfing of Bacillus subtilis
How systems are endowed with migration capacity is a fascinating question with implications ranging from the design of novel active systems to the control of microbial populations. Bacteria, which can be found in a variety of environments, have developed
