Moving shadow detection and removal – a wavelet transform based approach
Shadow detection and removal is an important problem in computer vision. The real challenge in moving shadow detection and removal is to classify moving shadow points which are many times misclassified as moving object points in a video sequences ...

Detect Any Shadow: Segment Anything for Video Shadow Detection
Segment anything model (SAM) has achieved great success in the field of natural image segmentation. Nevertheless, SAM tends to consider shadows as background and therefore does not perform segmentation on them. In this paper, we propose ShadowSAM, a simple yet effective framework for fine-tuning SAM to detect shadows. Besides, by combining it with long

Moving Shadow Removal Algorithm Based on Codebook Model [PDF]
The moving shadow will result in deformed or missing foreground targets, which affects the tracking and analyzing of the moving target foreground. To solve this problem, this paper designs a moving shadow removal algorithm by introducing codebook model. This

Due to imaging and lighting directions, shadows are inevitably formed in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images. This causes shadowed regions with missed and occluded information, such as color and texture details.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Shadow extraction and application in pedestrian detection [PDF]
We find shadows in many images and videos. Traditionally, shadows are considered as noises because they make hurdles for visual tasks such as detection and tracking. In this work, we show that shadows are helpful in pedestrian detection instead. Occlusions make pedestrian detection difficult.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
