New voltage-mode bandpass shadow filter

2016 13th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD), 2016
A new voltage-mode bandpass shadow filter is presented. The filter is built around the current-feedback operational-amplifier. The parameters of the filter can be controlled by adjusting the gains of external amplifiers built around the current-feedback operational-amplifier.

New CFOA-based shadow banpass filter

2016 International Conference on Electronics, Information, and Communications (ICEIC), 2016
This paper presents a new topology for implementing a bandpass shadow filter using the current-feedback operational amplifier (CFOA). The proposed circuit uses CFOAs, and avoids the use of external summing circuit to implement a shadow bandpass filter with controlled center frequency. Experimental results obtained using the AD844 CFOA are included.

Generalization of shadow filters in fractional domain

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2021
AbstractThis work is intended to generalize the design of shadow filters to the fractional‐order domain. Shadow filters, in integer‐order domain, introduced by Lakys and Fabre, consist of an external amplifier in the feedback loop of the basic filter cell and by varying the gain of this amplifier the parameters of the resulting filter are modified ...

Boosting the Quality Factor of the Shadow Bandpass Filter

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2022
This paper proposes a new method to increase the quality factor of the shadow bandpass filter. The proposed circuit topology is simple, with the use of conventional biquad cell along with external amplifiers. The major advantageous feature is that the quality factor of the filter is boosted up whereas the gain of the external amplifier is ...

Shadow map filtering with Gaussian shadow maps

Proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Virtual Reality Continuum and Its Applications in Industry, 2011
Shadow mapping is a technique, widely used in computer graphics, for efficiently calculating shadows in real-time applications. However, shadows created with this technique can not be filtered as regular textures, causing severe aliasing. To solve this problem, several techniques based on statistical analysis, including variance shadow maps and ...

Shadow Removal Using Bilateral Filtering

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2012
In this paper, we propose a simple but effective shadow removal method using a single input image. We first derive a 2-D intrinsic image from a single RGB camera image based solely on colors, particularly chromaticity. We next present a method to recover a 3-D intrinsic image based on bilateral filtering and the 2-D intrinsic image.

Filtering Multi‐Layer Shadow Maps for Accurate Soft Shadows

Computer Graphics Forum, 2014
AbstractIn this paper, we introduce a novel technique for pre‐filtering multi‐layer shadow maps. The occluders in the scene are stored as variable‐length lists of fragments for each texel. We show how this representation can be filtered by progressively merging these lists.

Bilateral Filtered Shadow Maps

2009
We present a novel shadow smoothing algorithm using the bilateral filter. From the observation that shadow leaking, which is found often in filter based approaches, occurs at depth discontinuity seen from the viewpoint of the eye, we apply the bilateral filter which is conceptually a product of two Gaussian filters, one for smoothing the shadow map and

Neuro-Fuzzy Shadow Filter

2002
In video sequence processing, shadow remains a major source of error of object segmentation. Traditional methods of shadow removal are mainly based on colour difference thresholding between the background and current images. The application of colour filters on MPEG or MJPEG images, however, is often erroneous as the chrominace information is ...

OTRA based shadow filters

2015 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON), 2015
This paper presents shadow filter configuration implemented using operational transresistance amplifier (OTRA). In shadow filters an external amplifier is added in the feed back loop of the basic filter and by controlling the gain of this amplifier the characteristics of the resulting filter can be tuned.
