EXPLOITING SHADOW EVIDENCE AND ITERATIVE GRAPH-CUTS FOR EFFICIENT DETECTION OF BUILDINGS IN COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2013
This paper presents an automated approach for efficient detection of building regions in complex environments. We investigate the shadow evidence to focus on building regions, and the shadow areas are detected by recently developed false colour shadow ...

Ideal Graph of a Graph [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we introduce ideal graph of a graph and study some of its properties. We characterize connectedness, isomorphism of graphs and coloring property of a graph using ideal graph.

Shadow Pauli Flow: Characterising Determinism in MBQCs involving Pauli Measurements [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
We introduce a new characterisation of determinism in Measurement-Based Quantum Computing (MBQC). The one-way model consists in performing local measurements over a large entangled state represented by a graph.

Shadow Toolbox (1st release)

open access: yes, 2022
Shadow is a Matlab toolbox written to detect the GNSS satellite in the shadow of the earth and remove them from the RINEX observation file. The main toolbox performs the following tasks: 1- Reads Rinex observation file 2- Reads precise ephemeris file

Representation of standard Liebchtz functions under a microscope [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة التربية والعلم, 2012
The aim of this paper is to provide a representation of a standard lipschitzian functions by mean of a microscope. More precisely, under certain conditions, the following results have been obtained.

Shadow-Aware Nonlinear Spectral Unmixing for Hyperspectral Imagery

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2022
In hyperspectral imagery, differences in ground surface structures cause a large variation in the optical scattering in sunlit and (partly) shadowed pixels.

Optimal Shadow Allocations of Secret Sharing Schemes Arisen from the Dynamic Coloring of Extended Neighborhood Coronas

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Every t-dynamic proper n-coloring of a graph G describes a shadow allocation of any (n,t+1)-threshold secret sharing scheme based on G, so that, after just one round of communication, each participant can either reconstruct the secret, or obtain a ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.
