Optimized expression of the Starmerella bombicola lactone esterase in Pichia pastoris through temperature adaptation, codon-optimization and co-expression with HAC1 [PDF]
The Starmerella bombicola lactone esterase (SBLE) is a novel enzyme that, in vivo, catalyzes the intramolecular esterification (lactonization) of acidic sophorolipids in an aqueous environment.

We characterized the distribution of cargo proteins associated with extracellular vesicles using various exogenous loading methods. In all cases, single‐particle analysis revealed that the distribution of protein content per EV is heterogeneous, following an exponential decay function.

Micromethods for determination of ammonia, urea, total nitrogen, uric acid, creatinine (and creatine), and allantoin [PDF]
The success with which Krebs and Henseleit (1) employed Warburg’s method of surviving tissue slices in the problem of the formation of urea in the liver encouraged its use for a direct attack on other problems of nitrogen metabolism in ...

Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Streptomycetes in micro-cultures: Growth, production of secondary metabolites, and storage and retrieval in the 96-well format [PDF]
Mycelium-forming Streptomyces strains were grown in one milliliter liquid micro-cultures in square deep-well microtiter plates. Growth was evaluated with respect to biomass formation and production of secondary metabolites which were found to be very ...
