The paper focuses on the optimization of a perfectly elastic-plastic truss under repeated variable load. The improved mathematical model of truss volume minimization problem with strength, stiffness and stability constraints is presented. The assumptions

Subsurface Single‐Atom Catalyst Enabled by Mechanochemical Synthesis for Oxidation Chemistry
The mechanochemical approach has been shown to be an effective method of regulating the position of single atoms. Controlling single atoms at the surface or subsurface results in catalysts with very different adsorption properties, leading to different reaction mechanisms.

Memory of Stress History in Single and Two Surface Plasticity for Granular Soils
ABSTRACT Recent studies have identified limitations in Manzari and Dafalias' 1997 and 2004 sand plasticity models, particularly regarding one‐way unloading/reloading and ratcheting loading modes. These models are widely accepted as bounding surface models in the geotechnical engineering community; thus, concerns have arisen about a fundamental lack of ...

The adapted plate load optimization problem is formulated applying the non-linear mathematical programming methods. The load variation bounds satisfying the optimality criterion in concert with the strength and stiffness requirements are to be identified.

Theorems of restricted dynamic shakedown
Dynamic shakedown for a rate-independent material with internal variables is addressed in the hypothesis that the load values are restricted to those of a specified load history of finite or even infinite duration, thus ruling out the possibility-typical

Charge Compensation Mechanisms in Ni‐Rich NMC Cathodes
Understanding charge compensation in nickel‐rich NMC cathodes is crucial for optimizing electrochemical performance. This study uses various spectroscopic techniques to investigate the correlation between transition metal oxidation states and Li depth profile in NMC811.

New shakedown criterion and permanent deformation properties of unbound granular materials
Unbound granular material specifications for road pavements in Australia are primarily based on physical material specification rather than mechanical characterisation.

Neohypoplasticity for Sand Coupled With the Generalized Intergranular Strain Concept
ABSTRACT This work presents the coupling of the recently revisited advanced hypoplastic constitutive sand model called neohypoplasticity (NHP) with the more recently introduced concept of the generalized intergranular strain (GIS) to account for soil behavior due to small strains. The latter is essential for the simulation of cyclic deformations.

Friction Characterization and Mitigation in Large‐Scale 6DOF Multi‐Axial Hybrid Simulation
ABSTRACT In the last few decades, hybrid simulation has become widely used for understanding the response of structural components and systems under extreme loading conditions. Large‐scale, three‐dimensional (3D), multi‐axial testing facilities with six degrees of freedom (6DOF) are versatile testing systems that can be used for testing a variety of ...

The oxidative generation of Cu(II) active sites in Cu‐exchanged zeolites for the CH4‐to‐CH3OH conversion has been studied. Complementary in situ/operando spectroscopic techniques highlight that the formation rate and the stability of different Cu(II) species are governed by their structure and the zeolite topology.
