Shaking table tests and numerical analysis of frozen soil-structure interaction system
Based on the shaking table tests on frozen soil-structure dynamic interaction system, the earthquake damage phenomenon of the superstructure and foundation of frozen soil site and the liquefaction phenomenon of sandy silt under earthquake excitation are ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Shaking table tests on a near-valley subway station
A large number of subway stations close to valley topography have been built in coastal and riverine cities in recent years, and the seismic safety of near-valley structures is threatened due to the seismic amplification effects of valley topography ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

A case study on the failure of the electrical panel of nuclear power plants by shaking table tests
The clearest method to evaluate seismic performance is to test the equipment installed in nuclear power plants using shaking table tests. Accordingly, research is conducted to directly evaluate the seismic performance and limit state via shaking table ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Shaking table tests on ultra-shallowly embedded shield tunnels with ground-penetrating technology
The dynamic response of the ultra-shallowly embedded tunnels, such as ground penetrating shield tunnels (GPSTs), is markedly different from that of the conventional one. Since GPST is partially exposed above the ground surface and partially submerged, it

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Shaking Table Tests on Flow Dynamics in Liquefied Slope
A series of 1-g shaking-table model tests was carried out on lateral flow of a sandy slope undergoing high excess pore water pressure. Model sandy deposit of extremely low density was prepared in order to induce lateral flow to various extents whether with continued shaking or impact shaking of short duration.
