Radiotherapy is known to influence immune function, including T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire. We evaluated the TCR repertoire before and after stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for stage I non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and explored ...

Quantifying Daseinisation Using Shannon Entropy
Topos formalism for quantum mechanics is interpreted in a broader, information retrieval, perspective. Contexts, its basic components, are treated as sources of information. Their interplay, called daseinisation, defined in purely logical terms, is reformulated in terms of two relations: exclusion and preclusion of queries.

Comparing Entropy and Beta as Measures of Risk in Asset Pricing
The paper establishes entropy as a measure of risk in asset pricing models by comparing its explanatory power with that of classic capital asset pricing model’s beta to describe the diversity in expected risk premiums.

Quantum query complexity of entropy estimation
Estimation of Shannon and R\'enyi entropies of unknown discrete distributions is a fundamental problem in statistical property testing and an active research topic in both theoretical computer science and information theory. Tight bounds on the number of

Statistical Estimation of the Shannon Entropy [PDF]
The behavior of the Kozachenko - Leonenko estimates for the (differential) Shannon entropy is studied when the number of i.i.d. vector-valued observations tends to infinity. The asymptotic unbiasedness and L^2-consistency of the estimates are established. The conditions employed involve the analogues of the Hardy - Littlewood maximal function.

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Light‐Induced Entropy for Secure Vision
This work realized a ternary true random number generator by exploiting stochastic traps emerging within multiple junction interfaces, and quantitatively validated the generation of high‐quality random numbers. Furthermore, it successfully demonstrated diverse applications, including AI‐resilient image security, thereby providing a valuable guide for ...

Introduction to logical entropy and its relationship to Shannon entropy
We live in the information age. Claude Shannon, as the father of the information age, gave us a theory of communications that quantified an “amount of information,” but, as he pointed out, “no concept of information itself was defined.” Logical entropy ...
