Extended Shannon entropies. II [PDF]
This paper examines functionals (called extended Shannon entropies), defined for all probability spaces equipped with a measurable metric, and coinciding with Shannon entropy for finite probability spaces endowed with the metric \(d(x,y)=1\), \(x\neq y\).

Oligomerizing Pluronic triblock copolymers provides a processing strategy for tuning the mechanical properties and stimuli‐responsive behaviors of micellar hydrogels. Varying oligomer fraction produces hydrogels spanning brittle to highly extensible responses; maintaining micellar architectures enables cooling‐induced reverse thermal shape memory and ...

Shannon Type Inequalities for Kapur’s Entropy
In the paper, by methods of the theory of majorization, the authors establish the Schur m-convexity and Shannon type inequalities for Kapur’s entropy.

On the generalization of Shannon entropy for speech recognition [PDF]
This paper introduces an entropy-based spectral representation as a measure of the degree of noisiness in audio signals, complementary to the standard MFCCs for audio and speech recognition. The proposed representation is based on the Renyi entropy, which is a generalization of the Shannon entropy. In audio signal representation, Renyi entropy presents

This study elucidates that β‐elemene promotes cellular uptake of L. gasseri‐derived lactate by enhancing the membrane translocation of MCT1 in a CD147‐dependent manner. Intracellular lactate, through the lactylation of RBBP4 at the K26 site, recruits EP300 to the promoter regions of downstream genes (POLD1/POLD3), catalyzing H3K27ac modification.

Thermodynamic and Differential Entropy under a Change of Variables
The differential Shannon entropy of information theory can change under a change of variables (coordinates), but the thermodynamic entropy of a physical system must be invariant under such a change.

Local boundedness and the shannon entropy
Let f be an information function. We show that, if f is bounded on an arbitrarily small nonvanishing interval contained in (0, 1), then f ≡ S where S is Shannon's measure of entropy on a 2-event space. This answers in the affirmative some closely related questions of J. Aczél and Z.

Probiotic B.p colonization elevated gut‐derived inosine level in the liver, while elevated inosine activated A2AR and subsequently blocked NPs‐induced polarization of M1 macrophages by repressing the miR155/SOCS1/NF‐κB pathway. This reduced the release of inflammatory cytokines and thereby, mitigated NPs‐induced hepatic injury.
