Sediment-associated ammonium-N increased benthic chlorophyll-a in streams: Evidence from SHAP integrated machine learning analysis

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Predicting benthic chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) is crucial for assessing freshwater ecosystem health, yet there is little information about the input of sediment data in predicting benthic Chl-a.

Characteristics and risk factors for invasive fungal infection in hospitalized patients with acute-on-chronic hepatitis B liver failure: a retrospective cohort study from 2010 to 2023

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Background and aimThe global burden of invasive fungal infections (IFIs) is emerging in immunologic deficiency status from various disease. Patients with acute-on-chronic hepatitis B liver failure (ACHBLF) are prone to IFI and their conditions are ...

Anode‐Free Sodium Metal Batteries: From Materials Design to System‐Level Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anode‐free sodium metal batteries hold no sodium reserve, so every inefficiency becomes permanent loss. Resolving the inventory into reversible, dead, and chemically bound fractions exposes what Coulombic efficiency hides. Practical 500‐cycle operation requires above 99.95%, a threshold few systems meet under lean electrolyte and high areal capacity ...

Integrated Multi‐Omics Reveals Cellular States and Microenvironmental Remodeling in Coexisting DCIS and IDC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coexisting DCIS and IDC samples are profiled using spatial transcriptomics, single‐cell RNA sequencing, and single‐cell DNA sequencing. Integrative multi‐omics analysis reveals distinct malignant epithelial and microenvironmental features between DCIS and IDC, which are further validated using Xenium and multiplex immunohistochemistry.

Gut Microbial Topology and Metabolic Signatures Associated With Colorectal Neoplasia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The gut microbiota organizes into two robust association patterns linked to colorectal neoplasia risk. Topological shifts in microbial networks are associated with metabolite alterations and may shape host responses during disease development. ABSTRACT Alterations of gut microbial communities impact health.

A Hybrid Hierarchical Framework for Quantifying Mechanical Markers in Atherosclerotic Disease Progression: A New Approach for Diagnosis and Risk Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanobiological basis of atherosclerotic progression and its contribution to spatial and temporal heterogeneity remain incompletely understood. Spatially resolved AFM measurements revealed that plaque formation and distinct regions (cap fibrosis, intimal fibrosis, and lipid‐rich core) exhibit heterogeneous elastic modulus and viscoelastic ...
