Selective Benzene Capture by Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) hold significant potential for capturing benzene from air emissions and hydrocarbon mixtures in liquid phases. This capability stems from their precisely engineered structures, versatile chemistries, and diverse binding interactions.

Paesaggi di coesistenza, ovvero come attorno ad un passeriforme si articola l’abitare in una zona di montagna

open access: yesEtnoAntropologia
Landscapes of coexistence is a term used by a team of zoologists in a 2019 article referring to the degree of tolerance between a population of lions and humans within three African natural parks and meant as «the sustainable cohabitation of people and ...

Shape coexistence in ¹⁷⁸Hg

open access: yes, 2019
Abstract Lifetime measurements of excited states in ¹⁷⁸Hg have been performed using the ¹⁰³Rh(⁷⁸Kr,p2n) reaction at a beam energy of 354 MeV. The recoil-decay tagging (RDT) technique was applied to select the ¹⁷⁸Hg nuclei and associate the prompt γ rays with the correlated characteristic ground-state α decay.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Probing the shape evolution and shell structures in neutron-rich N=50 nuclei

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The structure of low-lying states of N=50 nuclei is investigated by the advanced Monte Carlo shell model (MCSM) in the π(fp)−ν(sdg) model space. We have employed the shell-model Hamiltonian based on the valence-space in-medium similarity renormalization ...

Shape Coexistence in Light Se Isotopes: Evidence for Oblate Shapes

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2008
Lifetimes of states in the ground-state bands of (70)Se and (72)Se were measured using the recoil-distance Doppler shift method. The results deviate significantly from earlier measurements, requiring a revision of the conclusions drawn from a recent Coulomb excitation experiment concerning the shape of (70)Se. The new results lead to a coherent picture

On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Supraparticles Composed of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Nanoparticles and Silica‐Supported Horseradish Peroxidase as Customizable Hybrid Catalysts for Photo‐Biocatalytic Cascade Reactions in Continuous Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein presented supraparticles combine the nanoparticulate photocatalyst graphitic carbon nitride with the enzyme horseradish peroxidase, which is immobilized on silica nanoparticles. In an optimized compatibility range, both catalysts operate effectively within the hybrid supraparticles and catalyze a cascade reaction consisting of the photocatalytic

Lifetime measurement of the 21+ state in 74Rb and isospin properties of quadrupole transition strengths at N = Z

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
Self-conjugate nuclei in the A≈70–80 region have attracted a great deal of attention due to phenomena such as shape coexistence and increasing collectivity along the N=Z line.
