Shape and Shape Grammars: A Formal Model
1975The formal counterparts of the pictorial models of shape and shape grammars presented in Chapter 1 are developed in this chapter. Formal definitions for 2-dimensional, rectilinear shapes and shape grammars generating languages of 2-dimensional, rectilinear shapes are given. The presentation of this chapter is self-contained.
