Shape Recognition Methods Used for Complex Polygonal Shape Recognition
2014Two new algorithms, optimal and sub-optimal solution algorithm, for shape recognition using geometric calculations are proposed. They are mode-based, which means that shape from the data base which is considered as a model is compared with another shape extracted from the sequence of images, such as, for example, a moving object.

We describe a process of word recognition that has high tolerance for poor image quality, tunability to the lexical content of the documents to which it is applied, and high speed of operation. This process relies on the transformation of text images into character shape codes, and on special lexica that contain information on the shape of words.

Abstract shape recognition by machine
Proceedings of the December 12-14, 1961, eastern joint computer conference: computers - key to total systems control on - AFIPS '61 (Eastern), 1961Graphic pattern recognition in the development of total systems for information selection and retrieval is considered. A particular hypothetical machine model for shape recognition is described. Examples are given of recognition of 12 to 20 categories of geometric shapes, by use of a contour-projection principle.
