Experimental Study on Rock Breaking Effect of Axe-Shaped and Triangular-Ridged Cutters Under Impact Load

open access: yesShiyou jixie
In drilling engineering, optimized cutter selection for specific formations is critical to enhance rock breaking efficiency. To this end, a Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) apparatus was used to conduct impact-induced rock breaking tests of triangular-

Open ended tubing cutters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
A self clamping cutting tool which includes a handle attached to a C-shaped housing is described. Rotatably mounted within the housing is a C-shaped tool body carrying a set of clamping rolls, two support rolls, and an edged cutting roll (64).

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Prediction of wear life of shield disc cutter in complex formations based on genetic programming

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2018
In process of shield tunneling in complex formation, wear of disc cutter is extremely serious and service life is hard to predict, and influence factors of the disc cutter wear are multi-dimensional and uncertain.

IGEL: A 3D Shape Modeling Tool Mimicking Heat Cutters

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society for Art and Science, 2008
IGEL is a new shape modeling tool mimicking heat cutters for 3D computer graphics. Heat cutter is a tool for processing styrene form. Since blades of cutters are steal wires, user can freely bend them. IGEL realizes this operation by a sketch input system. IGEL has two different modes, 2D and 3D modes, and users can switch them freely.

Delaminated areas beneath organic coating: A local electrochemical impedance approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Local electrochemical impedance mapping was used to investigate delamination phenomena at the steel/epoxy-vinyl primer interface. The delamination occurred from an artificial defect(cutter scribing) and from ageing in a salt spray chamber.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Cutting of Siliceous Dolomite by Special-Shaped PDC Cutter under Confining Pressure

open access: yesShiyou jixie
The dolomite formation is an important field for oil and gas exploration in the future. However, due to the high confining pressure environment in wellbore and the hard-to-drill characteristics of dolomite, traditional planar cutter PDC bit is prone to ...
