The Mass Gap of the Space‐time and its Shape

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, 2022
AbstractSnyder's quantum space‐time which is Lorentz invariant is investigated. It is found that the quanta of space‐time have a positive mass that is interpreted as a positive real mass gap of space‐time. This mass gap is related to the minimal length of measurement which is provided by Snyder's algebra.

Space Matters? Exploring Gender Differentials in the Age at Marriage, Greece (1980–2017)

open access: yesSocial Sciences, 2020
Although local context is considered a key factor shaping differences in the age at marriage between spouses, spatially explicit investigations of the gender gap in marriage timing were scarce in Europe, especially in more traditional societies.

Formation of Banded Chorus Waves by Propagation From Multiple Sources

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2023
Chorus waves are electromagnetic emissions in the magnetosphere and play a crucial role in energetic electron dynamics. Observations show that these waves often exhibit a two‐band structure with a power gap near half the electron cyclotron frequency ...

Robust Controller Analysis and Design of Medical Haptic Control System [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2017
Haptic interfaces for medial simulation prove to be especially useful for training in minimally invasive procedures. In this research, a framework that consists of relevant representation of operator and environment dynamic of a tele-manipulated haptic ...

Evolving market-shaping strategies to boost access to essential medical products in developing countries with HIV self-testing as a case study

open access: yesGlobal Health Research and Policy, 2023
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated health inequities among countries in the Global South with limited access to essential medical products, leading to a higher infection and mortality rate, especially among vulnerable populations.

Performance of probabilistic amplitude shaping with BICM‐ID

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2021
It is numerically shown that bit error rate (BER) performance of probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) applying a bit‐to‐symbol mapping of non‐Gray natural binary code assigned to 64‐quadrature amplitude modulation is significantly improved by bit ...

How Party Systems Shape Local–National Gender Gaps [PDF]

open access: yesGovernment and Opposition, 2017
Women’s representation is highest in local assemblies in some countries, while others display the largest share of female office-holders at the national level. Drawing on a new data set mapping the representation of women at all four levels of government in Germany during the 2000s, we argue that differences in party system configurations across ...

Torque Ripples Reduction and Performance Analysis of Electrically Excited Flux Switching Motor

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Torque ripples cause acoustic noise, fluctuation in speed, vibration, and reduce lifetime of the motor. The double salient structure of Flux Switching Motor (FSM) has a high air-gap permeance variation that produces high torque ripples.
