Shared micromobility: use, prospects, and public reaction
2021My dissertation is composed of three analytical chapters that explore the newly introduced e-scooter and e-bike sharing services. After a decade of the rising popularity of bikesharing, micromobility sharing expanded with dockless vehicles, electric engines, smartphone-based service experience, and aggressive marketing strategies.

Toward Equitable Micromobility: Lessons from Austin E-Scooter Sharing Program
Journal of Planning Education and Research, 2021This study revealed the inequitable societal impacts of E-scooters on disadvantaged populations. The study conducted a population distribution analysis to compare the use opportunities and space intrusion burdens of E-scooter sharing on four vulnerable population groups in Austin, Texas.

Optimizing Station Placement for Integrated Shared Micromobility and Public Transit Networks
2024 IEEE 27th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC)Conventional transit network planning relies on assumptions about passenger behaviors that are becoming challenging to predict due to the growing popularity of smart mobilities, such as shared micromobility as an access mode.

Managing Resources for Shared Micromobility: Approximate Optimality in Large-Scale Systems
Management SciencesWe consider the problem of managing resources in shared micromobility systems (bike sharing and scooter sharing). An important task in managing such systems is periodic repositioning/recharging/sourcing of units to avoid stockouts or excess inventory at ...
