In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

A Normality Criterion for Sharing a Holomorphic Function

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we scrutinize a collection of meromorphic functions known as normal families, prove the theorem that normal families share a holomorphic function, and present several illustrative counterexamples.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Affiliative nomads in Japan: potential sustainable tourism stakeholders in depopulated rural areas

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Tourism
In Japan, the overall population is declining. Depopulation is severe, resulting in various negative consequences, particularly in rural areas. Rural communities could benefit by collaborating with people from other places, mainly urban areas.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Normal Criteria of Function Families Concerning Shared Values

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2011
We study the normality of families of meromorphic functions concerning shared values. We consider whether a family of meromorphic functions ℱ is normal in D, if, for every pair of functions f and g in ℱ, f′−af−n and g′−ag−n share the value b, where a and

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Differential polynomials of L-functions with truncated shared values

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, by using the idea of truncated counting functions, we study the uniqueness of transcendental meromorphic functions and L-functions whose certain nonlinear differential polynomials share one finite nonzero value.

Developing a Shared Understanding: Paraeducator Supports for Students with Disabilities in General Education [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In order for groups of people to become effective teams it is vital that they develop a shared understanding of the underlying beliefs, values, and principles that will guide their work together.
