A sharpening of the Parikh mapping [PDF]
Summary: We introduce a sharpening of the Parikh mapping and investigate its basic properties. The new mapping is based on square matrices of a certain form. The classical Parikh vector appears in such a matrix as the second diagonal. However, the matrix product gives more information about a word than the Parikh vector.

In this paper, we give some sharper refinements and generalizations of inequalities related to Shafer-Fink’s inequality for the inverse sine function stated in Theorems 1, 2, and 3 of Bercu (Math. Probl. Eng. 2017: Article ID 9237932, 2017).

Kriging-Weighted Laplacian Kernels for Grayscale Image Sharpening
Sharpening filters are used to highlight fine image details, including object edges. However, sharpening filters are very specific to different types of images as they may create undesired edge effects, over-highlight fine details, or emphasize noise ...

Spectral sharpening with positivity [PDF]
Spectral sharpening is a method for developing camera or other optical-device sensor functions that are more narrowband than those in hardware, by means of a linear transform of sensor functions.
