A method for determining displacement-dependent shear strength of slip zone soils using ring shear tests

open access: yesKSCE Journal of Civil Engineering
In the sliding process of landslide, the structure of slip zone soil is destroyed gradually, and its shear strength decreases continuously, which may lead to landslide instability.

Engineering Layered Magnetic Hydrogels for Cell Placement via Shear and Magnetic Field‐Induced Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic particles are organized into layered architectures by combining shear flow and magnetic fields, with the resulting structures governed by appropriate Mason numbers. The programmed assemblies provide spatial guidance for cell placement, linking field‐controlled self‐assembly, flow‐induced structuring and biological organization.

Field‐Programmed Anisotropy in Magneto‐Piezoelectric Composites for Material‐Encoded Mechanoperception

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐programmed anisotropy imparts material‐level intelligence to soft composites. Magnetic torque dynamics drive magneto‐piezoelectric nanowires from random dispersion into deterministic axial alignment. The resulting hierarchical percolation networks confine electromechanical coupling to specific axes and intrinsically decouple superposed force ...

Prediksi Sudut Gesek Internal Tanah Berdasarkan Sudut Dilatasi Pada Uji Geser Langsung

open access: yesDinamika Rekayasa, 2005
Shear strength parameters of soils are cohesion (c) and internal friction angle ( ). Direct shear test is a method to determine these parameters. Data from this test are shear stress and thickness change of soil.

Effect of particle size distribution on the correlation between liquefaction resistance and shear wave velocity of granular soils

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Shear wave method has been increasingly popular in assessing the liquefaction potential of granular soils. Two particle-scale parameters, the inter-particle friction and the shear modulus of grains, play vital roles in correlation between Cyclic ...

Influence of Carbon Nanoparticles on Electrically Induced Wear of Grease‐Lubricated Steels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
When an electric current enters a pair of rubbing surfaces, enormous damage takes place. In this research, how such damage occurs in the presence of protective grease and the mitigation with added carbon nanoparticles, were investigated. It was discovered that those particles regulate transport and interfacial electrical stability of the grease ...
