A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Shear Lag and Local Buckling Interaction in Orthotropic Deck of Steel Bridges
The term of shear lag is related to the discrepancies between the approximate theory of the bending of beams and their real behaviour, and it refers to the increases of the bending stresses near the flange-to-web junctions, and the corresponding ...

A meniscus‐guided microtransfer molding strategy enables scalable fabrication of grid‐type molecular martensite films with b‐axis‐correlated preferential texture. Sequential growth across microchannel intersections creates structurally continuous grids and robust thermoelastic actuation (∼11% strain, > 50 cycles, maximum force density: 7.1 × 109 N m−3).

Coordinated Architectural and Chemical Reinforcement in the Crushing Mandible of a Soldier Termite
The crushing mandible of a soldier termite withstands substantial biting loads despite lacking mineral. Its cuticle is partitioned: convex teeth pair hardness and zinc enrichment with aligned chitin fibers for contact durability, while stiffer concave regions between teeth carry bending loads.

Nanomaterial Strategies for Pulmonary Delivery of Immunotherapeutics in Lung Cancer Treatment
Inhalable immunotherapeutic nanomedicines enable organ‐selective immune modulation by overcoming pulmonary delivery barriers and concentrating therapy within lung tumors. This Review defines how nanomaterial properties govern airway deposition, retention, cellular partitioning, and immune activation across vaccines, checkpoint blockade, STING agonists,

A Shear Lag Analysis for Composite Box Girders with Deformable Connectors
A method is proposed for shear lag analysis which can be applied to steel-concrete composite box girders. The proposed method uses harmonic analysis and allows the determination of shear lag effects from simple calculations so that the method is regarded

Effect of Wind Loading Pattern on Shear Lag Phenomenon in Framed-Tube Building [PDF]
High-rise tubular buildings experience the shear lag phenomenon due to wind load. This phenomenon results in tension in upper storey columns that may adversely affect building stability.

Field‐programmed anisotropy imparts material‐level intelligence to soft composites. Magnetic torque dynamics drive magneto‐piezoelectric nanowires from random dispersion into deterministic axial alignment. The resulting hierarchical percolation networks confine electromechanical coupling to specific axes and intrinsically decouple superposed force ...

The Influence of Shear Effects on the Deflections of Steel Box Girder Bridges
It is already well known that the shear lag phenomenon, generated by shear deformations in the flanges of box girders, can result in a very non-uniform distribution, across the flange width, of longitudinal normal stresses, and consequently can then ...
