Using Shear-Wave Elastography to Assess Exercise-Induced Muscle Damage: A Review
Shear-wave elastography is a method that is increasingly used to assess muscle stiffness in clinical practice and human health research. Recently, shear-wave elastography has been suggested and used to assess exercise-induced muscle damage.

Shear jamming, discontinuous shear thickening, and fragile states in dry granular materials under oscillatory shear [PDF]
We numerically study the linear response of two-dimensional frictional granular materials under oscillatory shear. The storage modulus $G'$ and the loss modulus $G''$ in the zero strain rate limit depend on the initial strain amplitude of the oscillatory

Static shear modulus of electrorheological fluids [PDF]
We report measurements of the static shear modulus of electrorheological (ER) fluids consisting of water-wetted silica microspheres in silicone oil. A shear-annealing method, using creep-recovery (CR) cycles under an external electric field, is used to enhance ER properties of the fluid.

Fabrication and characterization of magneto-rheological shear-stiffened elastomers
This study presents a novel smart solid material called magneto-rheological shear-stiffened elastomer whose storage modulus can be changed obviously by both magnetic field and shear rate.

Rheology and ultrasonic properties of Pt57.5Ni5.3Cu14.7P22.5 liquid [PDF]
The equilibrium and nonequilibrium viscosity and isoconfigurational shear modulus of Pt57.5Ni5.3Cu14.7P22.5 supercooled liquid are evaluated using continuous–strain-rate compression experiments and ultrasonic measurements. By means of a thermodynamically-

Enhancing the CPT correlation with the small strain shear stiffness of sands
The cone penetration test (CPT) is a valuable geotechnical insitu test. Yet, the CPT correlations with the small strain shear modulus and seismic shear wave velocity still need more research to enhance their accuracy.

Effect of Mean Grain Size on the Small-Strain Dynamic Properties of Calcareous Sand
Calcareous sand was selected as the prior material for island reclamation in many coastal regions. The mechanical properties of the granular materials are greatly affected by their grain size distribution conditions.
