Nanomaterial Strategies for Pulmonary Delivery of Immunotherapeutics in Lung Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Inhalable immunotherapeutic nanomedicines enable organ‐selective immune modulation by overcoming pulmonary delivery barriers and concentrating therapy within lung tumors. This Review defines how nanomaterial properties govern airway deposition, retention, cellular partitioning, and immune activation across vaccines, checkpoint blockade, STING agonists,

Mechanotransduction of Magnetically Applied Forces Leads to Mechanical Stiffening of Platelet‐Rich Plugs

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A microfluidic device with magnetic microposts was used to assess platelet mechanobiology. The oscillatory actuation of posts with embedded iron particles was dampened by the dynamic stiffening of the platelet‐rich plugs. This stiffening process increased with applied load, but inhibiting platelet activation (ASA) or myosin contractility (blebbistatin)

Spatially Controlled Embedded Bioprinting of Prevascularized Spheroids‐Containing Biopatch Enables Functional Skin Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A spatially controlled embedded bioprinting strategy enables precise engineering of prevascularized multicellular spheroids within skin‐derived dECM bioinks. Optimized spheroid size, composition, and spacing promote vascular maturation, paracrine signaling, and tissue integration, resulting in enhanced angiogenesis, blood perfusion, and functional skin

Effectiveness of implanting prestressed threaded rods to strengthen shear-damaged full-scale prestressed hollow-core slabs

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
Due to the structural configuration of prestressed hollow-core slabs (PHCS), which are horizontally connected in sequence, there is no accessible working space for shear strengthening once shear cracks develop in the middle slabs.

Advancing Human Skin Equivalents: The Crucial Role of Neurovascular Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses the importance of integrating vascular and peripheral nerve systems into human skin equivalents (HSEs) to better recapitulate native skin physiology. Recent advances in vascularized, innervated, and neurovascularized HSEs are highlighted, together with emerging bioengineering strategies, current challenges, and future ...

Water‐Activated Phospholipid Phase‐Separation Gel as an Immunomodulatory Anti‐Adhesion Barrier for Postoperative Adhesion Prevention

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A water‐activated phospholipid phase‐separation gel is repurposed as a drug‐free surgical barrier for postoperative adhesion prevention. Propylene glycol promotes rapid lamellar gel reinforcement, prolonged local retention, and tissue coverage, while phosphatidylcholine‐mediated immunomodulation suppresses inflammatory and fibrotic responses. This dual‐

Shear stress transfer model for evaluating the fracture behaviour of SHCCs for RC shear strengthening

open access: yes, 2018
This paper presents a numerical shear stress transfer model for investigating the shear fracture behaviour of strain-hardening cementitious composites (SHCCs) for strengthening reinforced concrete (RC) structures.
