Shear strengthening of old concrete beams
Batiment International, Building Research and Practice, 1986In our March‐April issue last year, the author described work at the Czech Technical University in Prague on the use of epoxy resins to apply new flat reinforcement to old concrete beams in order to enhance or prolong their service life. Here, some further test results and general conclusions are presented on the application of this technique to shear ...

ULTIMATE SHEAR OF BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH CFRP SHEETS
1999The role of externally applied CFRP sheets in the evaluation of the shear strength of a reinforced concrete element is analyzed. With regard to this an analytical model is developed. It represents an extension of an existing model for the limit analysis of thin-webbed reinforced concrete beams falling in shear.

RC beams shear-strengthened with FRP: shear resistance contributed by FRP
Magazine of Concrete Research, 2010In determining the shear strength of reinforced concrete (RC) beams shear-strengthened with externally bonded fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement, the evaluation of the shear resistance contributed by the FRP reinforcement is the key issue.

AFRP Fabric Strengthening along Shear span in Shear deficient beams
International Journal on Science and TechnologyIn this study, AFRP (Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer) Fabric were utilized to externally strengthen the shear deficient beams in the shear span. Shear deficient beams externally strengthened with varying thickness of AFRP in Shear span and two layers of AFRP Strip of 50 mm width at the bottom of the beam are modeled and analysed.

Numerical simulation of shear-strengthened RC beams
Engineering Structures, 2013Abstract A nonlinear and time-dependent fibre beam element model able to simulate the response of existing reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures subjected to repair and strengthening interventions is presented in this paper. The relevant attributes of the proposed formulation are: (i) its capability for considering shear effects in both service ...
