SplitLab: A shear-wave splitting environment in Matlab [PDF]
We present a graphical user interface to facilitate the processing of teleseismic shear-wave splitting observations. In contrast to a fully automated technique, we present a manual, per-event approach that maintains user control during the sequence of processing.

New shear wave splitting measurements using broadband seismic data recorded by the BX seismological network in Botswana [PDF]
New measurements shear-wave splitting (SWS) were determined using a teleseismic dataset from 21 broadband seismic stations belonging to the GSN-BX network in Botswana archived at IRIS-DMC.

Full‐wave effects on shear wave splitting [PDF]
AbstractSeismic anisotropy in the mantle plays an important role in our understanding of the Earth's internal dynamics, and shear wave splitting has always been a key observable in the investigation of seismic anisotropy. To date the interpretation of shear wave splitting in terms of anisotropy has been largely based on ray‐theoretical modeling of a ...

Teleseismic shear wave splitting measurements in noisyenvironments [PDF]
SUMMARY High noise levels hamper teleseismic shear wave splitting measurements, which bandpass filtering does not always help. To investigate how robust splitting measurements are to noise, we analysed a set of synthetic records with known splitting parameters and added fixed levels of noise.

Robust Phase Association and Simultaneous Arrival Picking for Downhole Microseismic Data Using Constrained Dynamic Time Warping [PDF]
Accurate phase association and arrival time picking are pivotal for reliable microseismic event location and source characterization. However, the complexity of downhole microseismic wavefields, arising from heterogeneous subsurface structures, variable ...

Shear-Wave Splitting in the Alpine Region [PDF]
<p>To constrain seismic anisotropy under and around the Alps in Europe, we study SKS shear-wave splitting from the region densely covered by the AlpArray seismic network. We apply a technique based on measuring the splitting intensity, constraining well both the fast orientation and the splitting delay.

Sensitivity of shear wave splitting to fracture connectivity [PDF]
SUMMARY Shear wave splitting (SWS) is currently considered to be the most robust seismic attribute to characterize fractures in geological formations. Despite its importance, the influence of fluid pressure communication between connected fractures on SWS remains largely unexplored.

Reviews on seismic anisotropy based on shear-wave splitting in the Tibetan Plateau
The research on the anisotropy of shear wave splitting in the Tibetan Plateau has been carried out for nearly 30 years, and important progress has been made in theoretical methods and practical applications. A large number of shear wave splitting results
