Influence of silicon on sheath blight of rice in Brazil

open access: yes, 2003
The effect of silicon (Si) on sheath blight (Rhizoctonia solani Kühn) of rice was studied under greenhouse conditions. The predominant commercial rice cultivars \u27BR-IRGA 409\u27, \u27Metica-1\u27, \u27EPAGRI-109\u27, \u27Rio Formoso\u27, \u27Javaé\u27,

Planting date significantly affects Missouri rice productivity

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Rice (Oryza sativa L.) planting dates have trended earlier in the upper Mid‐Southern United States, including Missouri, due to desire for earlier harvest. Earlier harvests lead to greater potential for dry harvest conditions, which facilitates fall field preparation and the ability to plant next year's crop timelier.

Interaction among sheath diseases complex of rice and ribosomal DNA analysis for the differentiation of Rhizoctonia solani, R. oryzae and R. oryzae-sativae

open access: yesPlant Stress, 2022
An experiment was conducted in the laboratory and field to study the interaction among three sheath diseases of rice namely sheath blight, sheath spot and aggregated sheath spot and their causal agents, Rhizoctonia solani, R. oryzae and R. oryzae-sativae.

Design, Synthesis, and Antifungal Activity of Natural Furan Carboxylic Acid Derivatives as Potential Succinate Dehydrogenase Inhibitors

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
A series of furanamide derivatives were designed and synthesized. Among these compounds, those containing the trifluoromethyl (─CF3) group exhibited the most potent antifungal activity. Notably, compounds 3m and 6b showed particularly strong effects, and their mechanism of action was further investigated.

Controllable Gradient Structures Toward Enhancing Ion Transport Kinetics in Lithium Metal Anodes: A Review

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 5, September 2026.
This review summarized various gradient structures across the electrolyte, solid‐electrolyte interphase, and Li+ nucleation interfaces. Furthermore, the design principles of various gradient structures and their underlying mechanisms for optimizing lithium‐ion transport kinetics were systematically elucidated. ABSTRACT The slow kinetics of lithium ions

Global‐Scale Patterns of Host Transitions Suggest Contrasting Levels of Specialization Within Rhizoctonia solani

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
We combined a global rDNA‐ITS dataset with TEF‐1α sequences and newly sequenced isolates to examine phylogenetic signal, host associations, and population structure in the soil‐borne pathogen Rhizoctonia solani. Most anastomosis groups formed well‐supported clades, and host‐associated patterns corresponded more strongly with genetic structure than ...

Surviving the Nucleus Pulposus Desert: Next‐Generation Strategies for Intervertebral Disc Cell Therapy

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACTBackgroundLow back pain remains the leading cause of disability worldwide, with intervertebral disc degeneration representing a major biological contributor. Although cell‐based therapies have shown promise in preclinical models, clinical translation has yielded modest and inconsistent outcomes.
