Development of an Attenuated Live Virus Vaccine against Sheep Pox

Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin Reihe B, 1967
SummaryLaboratory experiments and field investigations showed that the live modified sheep pox virus vaccine, strain RM/65, is completely innocuous after 30 consecutive passages in sheep kidney cells.Sheep vaccinated with a single dose of vaccine resist the challenge dose of virulent virus. The vaccine does not lose its immunizing power when kept for ...

Studies on the Immunogenic Properties of Tissue‐Culture Sheep Pox Virus

Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin Reihe B, 1965
SummaryA combination of lamb kidney and lamb testis cells was successfully used for the large‐scale production of sheep pox virus.Tissue culture virus from the 8th and 12th passages showed higher titers than the initial seed material.Vaccine of tissue culture origin established a solid immunity in inoculated animals.

A Short Note on Sheep Pox Virus Soluble Antigens Studied by Immunodiffusion

Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin Reihe B, 2010
Summary The soluble antigens of sheep pox virus prepared from virus grown on sheep skin were studied by the immunodiffusion technique in agar gel. These antigens produced a maximum of 10 precipitation bands when reacted against the hyperimmune serum prepared in sheep.
