Knowledge mapping of risk mitigation measures against vector‐borne diseases

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract A comprehensive synthesis of current evidence on surveillance, prevention and control measures for 25 selected vector‐borne diseases (VBDs) affecting animals in the EU is presented here. The assessment integrates evidence from systematic literature reviews, modelling studies, field investigations and expert judgement.

Identification and phylogenetic analysis of the sheep pox virus Shanxi isolate [PDF]

open access: yesBiomedical Research, 2018
A strain of virus was successfully isolated from a Demei sheep with typical symptoms of sheep pox virus (SPPV) in Shanxi province in China (SPPV-Shanxi) and identified using hematoxylin and eosin staining, electron microscopy, neutralization testing, and PCR. Identification results proved a SPPV-Shanxi infection in the sheep.

EFFICACY OF VACCINATION STRATEGY AGAINST LUMPY SKIN DISEASE WITH THE USE OF NEW GENERATION OF INACTIVATED VACCINE [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Medical Journal - Giza, 2002
Lumpy skin disease (LSD) local strain (Ismalia 88) was propagated in MDBK cell line for six serial passages to obtain a titer of 107.5 /ml TCID50. Harvestation of the adapted virus from inoculated cell culture was based on the time at which a clear CPE ...

Transboundary Animal Diseases Associated With Cross‐Border Camel Movement. A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Transboundary animal diseases (TADs) are contagious diseases that significantly impact livestock health, public health and economic stability. In regions with frequent cross‐border trade and transhumance involving camels, particularly the Middle East and Africa, TADs pose a heightened One Health risk due to their zoonotic potential and capacity to ...

THE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF VACCINATION WITH CORYNE BACTERIUM OVIS ON SHEEP POX INFECTION [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut Veterinary Medical Journal, 1986
Data presented in this study indicates that the injection of a single dose of 7.5x108 of c.ovis treated with 1 : 750000 crystal violet has a reasonable immuno-potentiating effect in sheep which enables them to show a measurable resistance to experimental
