Isoform Specificity of a Compound Targeting Actin Filaments Containing Tropomyosin Tpm1.8/1.9

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The unbranched actin filaments in mammalian cells are usually composed of co‐polymers of a specific tropomyosin isoform with actin. Genetic manipulation has revealed that the tropomyosins largely define the functional properties of actin filaments in an isoform‐specific, non‐redundant manner.

Mosaic activation of the zebrafish hsp70l heat shock promoter: Implications for interpreting transgenes

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The promoters and enhancers of heat shock genes, such as the 1.5‐kb promoter of the zebrafish hsp70l gene, are valuable tools for temporal activation of transgenes. It has been widely purported that heat shock treatments result in ubiquitous expression of hsp70l‐driven transgenes.

Soil Carbon Markets in the Making: Power Relations and Matters of Concern in Offsetting and Insetting

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates emerging soil carbon markets and seeks to identify the groups of actors and power relations that constitute their structure and function. Voluntary soil carbon markets (VSCMs) are emerging globally as a key mechanism for generating carbon removals as part of climate mitigation efforts.
