Isolation, Classification and Nutritional Requirements of Cellulolytic Cocci in the Sheep Rumen [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1967
Surmmary Twenty-five strains of cellulolytic cocci were isolated from the rumen contents of seven sheep, over a period of two years. Six sheep were maintained at roughly constant body weight on chaffed lucerne hay or a lucerne chaff/oat chaff mixture. One strain was obtained from an animal on a low protein diet.

Secreted Nonstructural Protein 3 is a Pathogenic Determinant of Orbivirus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a conserved PIP2‐dependent secretory pathway of orbivirus NS3 that induces vascular leakage. Pharmacological disruption of PIP2‐NS3 interaction significantly reduces viral pathogenicity and provides protective efficacy in murine models, establishing PIP2‐mediated NS3 secretion as both a key virulence determinant and a promising ...

ENERGY AND PROTEIN REQUIREMENTS OF GROWING PELIBUEY SHEEP UNDER TROPICAL CONDITIONS ESTIMATED FROM A LITERATURE DATABASE ANALYSES

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2012
Data from previous studies were used to estimate the metabolizable energy and protein requirements for maintenance and growth and basal metabolism energy requirement of male Pelibuey sheep under tropical conditions were estimated. In addition, empty body

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

Net energy and protein requirements for pregnancy differ between goats and sheep

open access: yes, 2016
Current feeding systems for goats estimate the energy and protein requirements for pregnancy using data from sheep. The objective of this study was to predict the NE and net protein requirements for pregnancy in goats carrying single and twin fetuses and

Micro‐Galvanic Coupling Programs the Therapeutic Zinc Ion Window to Reconfigure Immune Cascades for Pro‐Regenerative Bone Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilized alloy micro‐galvanic coupling design to regulate the release of essential elements, thereby programming immune responses and promoting regeneration. The sacrificial anodic process of Zn‐0.8Mg reduced Zn2+ release compared to the “large cathode‐small anode” coupling of Zn‐0.8Fe.

Spatiotemporal Targeting Randle Cycle and Immune Checkpoint for Potent Antitumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A glucose oxidase‐based nanogel (GOX‐NG) system using catechol‐functionalized alginate, exhibits enhanced tumor penetration, prolonged retention, and sustained glucose depletion in the tumor microenvironment. When combined with a fatty acid oxidation inhibitor, it implements dual metabolic suppression, thereby enhancing ROS‐induced immunogenic cell ...
