Reduced Graphene Oxide Transparent Electrodes Enabling Compact Soft Tunable Lenses
By spray‐coating an elastomeric membrane with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at various surface densities, elastomeric actuators are manufactured. Electro‐mechano‐optical characterizations show the suitability of rGO as an effective material for compliant, semi‐transparent electrodes, enabling soft electrically tunable lenses with a compact form factor ...

Superplastic forming of sheet metal
Superplastic forming of sheet metal enables forming of complicated details in one step. The forming is done at very low strain rates, making the process slow and cycle times very long.

During sheet metal forming processes, 5xxx-AlMg(Mn) alloys tend to form flow figures due to the so-called Portevin-Le Chatelier effect (PLC effect). To date, this visually apparent phenomenon has prevented such 5xxx sheet materials from being used for ...

Top‐down organic pillaring expands the interlayer spacing of bulk‐sized MoS2 particles while preserving the bulk morphology. Operando X‐ray diffraction and electrochemical dilatometry show that MoS2‐bulk undergoes solvent co‐intercalation in diglyme electrolyte, causing large structural expansion, while pillared, expanded MoS2 suppresses solvent uptake

Redox dual‐defects (Cs substitution and O vacancies) in 2D hydrated WO3 steer O2 activation toward selective singlet oxygen evolution. WO‐CO achieves 8.6–15.8 times higher 1O2 production than single‐defect or pristine catalysts, enabling efficient pollutant mineralization via a pathway‐selective photocatalytic mechanism.

Finite element prediction of ductile fracture in sheet metal forming processes
In this contribution, Lemaitre's ductile damage model is coupled with Hill's orthotropic plasticity criterion. The coupling between damaging and material behaviour is accounted for within the framework of Continuum Damage Mechanics (CDM).

Bandgap‐engineered AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructures exhibit wavelength‐selective dual‐polarity photoelectrochemistry, switching from photocathodic to photoanodic response depending on excitation wavelength. The polarity transition is governed by band‐selective absorption, built‐in electric‐field‐driven carrier transport, and interfacial charge‐transfer ...
