Prediction Intervals for Overdispersed Binomial Endpoints and Their Application to Toxicological Historical Control Data

open access: yesPharmaceutical Statistics, Volume 24, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
ABSTRACT For toxicology studies, the validation of the concurrent control group by historical control data (HCD) has become requirements. This validation is usually done by historical control limits (HCL), which should cover the observations of the concurrent control with a predefined level of confidence.

CEV MEAN CONTROL CHART FOR WEIBULL DISTRIBUTIONS WITH CENSORED DATA CARTA DE CONTROL CEV PROMEDIO PARA DISTRIBUCIONES WEIBULL CON DATOS CENSURADOS

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Estadística, 2005
In many Industrial applications, censored observations are present and in this cases direct application of the Shewhart mean and np control charts is not adequate.

The Application of Six Sigma to Assess the Analytical Performance of Plasma Proteins and Design a Risk‐Based Statistical Quality Control Strategy: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 39, Issue 16, August 2025.
The six sigma model can objectively assess the analytical performance of plasma proteins. Different control concentrations yield different sigma values, which are visually displayed through standardized sigma performance verification charts. The six sigma model enables the development of personalized quality control strategies for each assay.

Data Quality: What if Deming Were Born Today?

open access: yesApplied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, Volume 41, Issue 4, July/August 2025.
ABSTRACT If Francis Bacon were born today, he might have said “data is power” instead of his original saying, “knowledge is power.” In modern society, data is everywhere. In memory of Deming (a guru in quality), this paper attempts to address the fundamental issue of data quality and how Deming would handle it.

Moving on - beyond lean thinking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Lean Thinking is currently often positioned as the underlying theory of lean production among practitioners and academics, although its originators, Womack and Jones, seem not to have presented it as a theory.
