The Relation Between Strength of Ground Improvement and P-Wave Velocity when Using the Jumbo-Jet Special Grouting Method [PDF]
Shield construction works are the most popular method employed at the Taiwan Mass Rapid Transit project and underground sewage projects. Joining of the shaft and the tunnel is generally high-risk work because of potential dangers, such as ground collapse

Soil conditioning for EPB shield tunnelling
The use of conditioning agents that change the mechanical and hydraulic behavior of a cohesionless soil into an impervious and plastic paste is the key point for the correct management of EPB (Earth Pressure Balance) shield tunneling. The design of soil conditioning sets and the choice of the best products to be used require special laboratory tests ...

TBM pressure models: observations, theory and practice [PDF]
Mechanized tunnelling in soft ground has evolved significantly over the last 20 years. However, the interaction between the tunnel boring machine (TBM) and the ground is often understood through idealized concepts, focused mostly on the machine actions ...

In this study, we report a resistive‐type strain sensor fabricated using single‐walled CNTs, are used layer using the pray technique to deposit as conductive, and UV‐resin was spin‐coated as a protection layer. The sensor functioned in harsh temperature variation conditions from −50°C to 125°C without deterioration.

Ge Detectors and $0\nu\beta\beta$: The Search for Double Beta Decay with Germanium Detectors: Past, Present and Future [PDF]
High Purity Germanium Detectors have excellent energy resolution; the best among the technologies used in double beta decay. Since neutrino-less double beta decay hinges on the search for a rare peak upon a background continuum, this strength has enabled

Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

Schottky Barrier Engineering in n‐Type Organic Source‐Gated Transistors Enabling High Conductance
This study introduces a modified source electrode architecture for n‐type organic source‐gated transistors (OSGTs). By integrating Schottky and Ohmic contact regions, the design achieves a thinner depletion envelope, enhancing mobility nearly tenfold and reducing threshold voltage.

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Wind tunnel blockage tests at Mach 5 of vacuum duct models for two sound radiation shields [PDF]
Two sound shield models with dummy vacuum exhaust ducts were tested in a Mach 5 pilot quiet tunnel. The first model simulates a new sound shield of 3 in. (7.62 cm) inside diameter and the second model is a shield of 4 in. (10.16 cm) inside diameter.
