Effect of needle loops on shielding effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding knitted fabrics

Textile Research Journal, 2022
Knitted electromagnetic shielding fabric is widely used for its excellent extensibility and permeability. However, the influence law and mechanism of the effect of needle loops on the shielding effectiveness of fabrics is still unclear. In this paper, we designed five kinds of knitted fabrics.

Shielding effect in protein folding

Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling, 2018
One of the most important interactions responsible for protein folding and stability are hydrogen bonds between peptide groups. There is a constant competition between the water molecules and peptide groups in a hydrogen bond formation. Also side-chains take part in this process by reducing hydration of peptide group (shielding effect) that promotes ...

Shielding Effectiveness of a Metamaterial Slab

2007 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2007
A study of the shielding properties of a metamaterial slab is presented. The metamaterial nature of the slab arises from the negative values of its effective scalar dielectric permittivity in the considered low- frequency region of operation. Such an effective permittivity is the result of a homogenization process of an actual periodic structure which ...

Shielding Effectiveness of Braided-Wire Shields

IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1975
An analysis of the shielding effectiveness of braidedwire shields is made using the parameters of the woven wire and the theory of electromagnetic coupling through small irises. The coupling through the rhombic-shaped holes in the braid is approximated by using the electric and magnetic polarizabilities of elliptical holes of the same width and length ...

Shielding effectiveness: A weighted figure of merit for space radiation shielding

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2020
The risk to space crew health and safety posed by exposure to space radiation is regarded as a significant obstacle to future human exploration missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Engineers developing future spacecraft or planetary surface habitats can benefit from detailed knowledge of a broad range of possible materials that could provide ...

Anisotropic Magnetic Shielding Effectiveness of Magnetic Shielded Package

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2017
In this paper, an analysis method and a measurement method for anisotropic magnetic shielding effectiveness (MSE) are discussed. Some magnetic sensors and memories require small magnetic shielded packages to decrease the influence of external magnetic noise.

A FEM approach to shielding effectiveness in braided-shield cables

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1990
The coupling between an electromagnetic field and a braided-shielded cable is analyzed using a numerical approach. Penetration of the magnetic field through the shield and apertures is described by the homogeneous Helmholtz equation in terms of the magnetic vector potential.

Shielding Effectiveness Theory of Shielding

2019
The hypothesis upon which the present accepted theory of shielding consisting of the equation SE = R + A + B is based is presented. The hypothesis is based on wave theory and the analogy between transmission lines and the penetration of a wave through a barrier. A detailed analysis, comparing the value of the current delivered to a load impedance using

Materials Effect on Shielding Effectiveness

2007 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing and Communications, 2007
With the continual increased concentration of the electric and electronic systems, with the increase of their working speed that results a large and dense use of the spectrum frequency and, finally with their miniaturization that increases their sensitivity to the electromagnetic interferences; the importance of problems of E/E equipment's cohabitation
