Transistor Shift Registers

Proceedings of the IRE, 1954
Three different types of high-speed transistor shift registers are discussed. The high speed (3 to 5 microseconds per shift pulse) is made possible by the use of nonsaturating bistable circuits. Two general shift registers are described making use of respectively one and two transistors per stage.

Shift Register Sequences

2020
In Chapter 8, we already encountered linear feedback shift registers in connection with the hardware implementation of arithmetics in GF(2n): In the present chapter, we will study the sequences produced by such devices—that is, shift register sequences—in detail.

Photonic shift register

Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1988
Optical memories are indispensable to time-division and self-routing photonic switching systems. Currently, optical fiber delay lines are commonly used as memory cells in such switching systems. These delay lines are fixed in length and not applicable to switching systems requiring flexible delays.

A microdroplet-based shift register

Lab on a Chip, 2010
A microfluidic device is presented for the serial formation, storage and retrieval of water microdroplets in oil. The principle of operation is similar to that of an electronic shift register. Droplets, considered as units of information, can be arrayed and serially shifted within the device, allowing the controllable positioning of the emulsions and ...

Shift Register Generators

1994
Shift register generator (SRG) is an autonomous system consisting of shift registers and exclusive-OR gates. In this chapter, we investigate the behaviors of SRGs in view of the sequence space theory developed in the previous chapter. For a given SRG, we first consider how to determine the sequence space generated by SRG sequences with a fixed initial ...
