Shift Register Sequences

2020
In Chapter 8, we already encountered linear feedback shift registers in connection with the hardware implementation of arithmetics in GF(2n): In the present chapter, we will study the sequences produced by such devices—that is, shift register sequences—in detail.

Photonic shift register

Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1988
Optical memories are indispensable to time-division and self-routing photonic switching systems. Currently, optical fiber delay lines are commonly used as memory cells in such switching systems. These delay lines are fixed in length and not applicable to switching systems requiring flexible delays.

A microdroplet-based shift register

Lab on a Chip, 2010
A microfluidic device is presented for the serial formation, storage and retrieval of water microdroplets in oil. The principle of operation is similar to that of an electronic shift register. Droplets, considered as units of information, can be arrayed and serially shifted within the device, allowing the controllable positioning of the emulsions and ...

Shift Register Generators

1994
Shift register generator (SRG) is an autonomous system consisting of shift registers and exclusive-OR gates. In this chapter, we investigate the behaviors of SRGs in view of the sequence space theory developed in the previous chapter. For a given SRG, we first consider how to determine the sequence space generated by SRG sequences with a fixed initial ...

On Recognition of Shift Registers

Combinatorics, Probability and Computing, 1996
This paper deals with infinite binary sequences. Each sequence is treated as generated by a nondeterministic shift register. A measure-theoretic criterion helpful in finding a deterministic generator of the set of sequences is proposed.

Shift Registers and Counter Registers

1982
It is convenient to have registers which have a built-in capability of performing operations on the bit patterns stored in them. Such operations include shifting and counting. In SDC, the ACC will be a shift register so that the SHR instruction of table 1.4 can be executed.

1000 Bit bipolar shift register

1968 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1968
The design of a bipolar shift register array using discretionary interconnection techniques is presented. The array which includes clock drivers and output buffer circuits interfaces directly with T2L and has a fanout drive capability of 10. It operates from D C. to 15 MHz at a power dissipation of only 4 mw per bit including all clock drivers.

Josephson shift registers

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1989
A review of Josephson shift-register circuits that have been designed, fabricated, or tested is presented with emphasis on work in the 1980s. Operating speed is most important, since it often limits system performance. Older designs used square-wave clocks, but most modern designs use offset sine waves, with either two or three phases.

Shift Register Sequences

1988
During and after World War II the use of logical circuits made completely electronic cryptosystems possible. These turned out to be very practical in the sense of being easy to implement and very fast. The analysis of their security is not so easy! Working with logical circuits often leads to the alphabet {,1}.

An Electro-Optical Shift Register

IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1959
An electro-optical shift register composed only of electroluminescent (EL) and photoconductive (PC) cells was designed and successfully operated. While its measured operating speed probably does not make this shift register currently competitive in high-speed applications, it is amenable to construction in an extremely small volume, and has certain ...
