Development, analysis, test and validation of a shock response spectrum (SRS) test bench for space equipment

open access: yes, 2023
Spacecraft systems and sub/systems are subject to high mechanical energy at a high frequency during shock events. These sudden mechanical loads have been known to cause damage, leading to complete or partial loss of space missions. To prevent this, it is

QBP1 Peptide as a Potential Anti‐Amyloidogenic Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The anti‐amyloidogenic peptide QBP1 effectively halts human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) aggregation, preventing the formation of toxic β‐structured intermediates. Through a combination of biophysical assays, molecular dynamics, and cell‐based studies, QBP1 is shown to preserve β‐cell viability and metabolic homeostasis, positioning it as a ...

Gut Microbiota Regulates Systemic Inflammatory Response and Compensatory Anti‐Inflammatory Response Syndromes by Targeting PF4+ Macrophages in Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute pancreatitis (AP) begins with pancreatic local inflammation, leading to the onset of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), followed by compensatory anti‐inflammatory response syndrome (CARS), which causes immune paralysis and higher mortality rate.

Heme‐NO Dilates Arteries via Mobilization of NO Moieties From an Intracellular NO Store Within Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nitrosyl heme emerges as an extracellular nitrodilator that dilates arteries without crossing the cell membrane. Instead, heme‐NO mobilizes NO moieties from a preformed intracellular NO store within vascular smooth muscle, providing both functional and chemical evidence for the NANOS model, revealing a previously unrecognized mechanism of arterial ...

Laboratory Simulation of Response to a Shock Environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The focus of this work will be to simulate a harsh, blast environment on a space structure. Data from a reverse Hopkinson bar (RHB) test is used to generate the response to a symmetric, distributed load. The RHB generates a high-amplitude, high-frequency
