Shock Development in an Electrothermal Shock Tube [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Physics, 1969
The nature of the electrioally energized, i.e. eleotrothermal, shook tube is discussed. It is shown that its performanoe simulates that of a meohanioal shook tube with a hot driver but with a turbulent or unstable driver-shook interface.

Fundamental Study on Operational Parameters of Diaphragmless Shock Tube

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper shows influences of initial conditions on a diaphragmless shock tube operation. This facility consists of a driver tube, a driven tube and a damp tank. The driver tube has a circular cross section with diameter of 150 mm and the driven tube, a

A shock tube study of jet fuel pyrolysis and ignition at elevated pressures and temperatures

open access: yesFuel, 2018
The development of compact HyChem hybrid models for jet fuels requires datasets of pyrolysis product yields to constrain the model and of kinetic targets to evaluate the model.

Effect of propagation of a reflected shock wave on a pressure field when a detonation wave reflects on an end wall of a tube with opened or closed ignition end

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
A detonation wave propagating in a straight tube (detonation tube) was reflected off the end wall of the tube, and the pressure profile produced by the propagation of the reflected shock wave was experimentally investigated.

A Quick-and-Dirty Method for Assessing the Risk of Negative Aeration Effects of Shock Absorbers Equipped with Shim Sliding Base Valves

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2022
This paper presents a quick-and-dirty method to assess the risk of negative aeration effects occurring in twin-tube hydraulic shock absorbers used in passenger cars at the early design stage.

Cryogenic shock tube [PDF]

open access: yesThe Physics of Fluids, 1973
Two shock tubes have been developed which allow for partial or full immersion of the test sections within a cryogenic bath. One tube is used for the study of shock-wave interactions with strong density gradients, and the other to obtain very large shock Mach numbers with ideal gas conditions in all flow regions.

Study on Dynamic Response of Downhole Tools under Perforation Impact Load

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2017
A model of a multibody system is established to investigate the dynamic response of an oil tube-shock absorber-perforating gun system in downhole perforation-test joint operation. In the model, the oil tube and perforating gun are modeled as elastic rods
