Shock Tube Radiation Measurements in Nitrogen

open access: yes2018 Joint Thermophysics and Heat Transfer Conference, 2018
Spectrally and spatially resolved radiance has been measured in the Electric Arc Shock Tube (EAST) facility, with the aim of improving fundamental understanding of high en-thalpy flows in pure nitrogen.

Cold Forging Effect on the Microstructure of Motorbike Shock Absorbers Fabricated by Tube Forming in a Closed Die

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Motorbike shock absorbers made with a closed die employ a tube-forming process that is more sensitive than that of a solid billet, because the tube is usually too thin-walled to conserve material. During tube forming, defects such as folding and cracking

Shock Theory of a Bubbly Liquid in a Deformable Tube [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Shock propagation through a bubbly liquid filled in a deformable cylindrical tube is considered. Quasi-one-dimensional bubbly flow equations that include fluid-structure interaction are formulated, and the steady shock relations are derived ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Design and Numerical Analysis of a Double-Tube Magnetorheological Shock Absorber for Vehicle Seat Suspension Systems

open access: yesGazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi, 2019
In scissors-type suspension mechanisms of the driver's seats of vehicles such as tractors, trucks and buses, conventional double-tube shock absorbers are often used as dampers due to the length of the course.

Response of electrostatic probes to ionized gas flows in a shock tube [PDF]

open access: yes, 1959
In his excellent analysis of electrical measurements in shock tube flows, Hollyer(1) has demonstrated certain pitfalls in the application of conventional Langmuir probe techniques to the evaluation of charge densities in the moving stream of hot gas ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

On the Generation of an Intense Temperature Gradient Through a Modified Shock Tube Hydrodynamics for a Possible Continuous Sterilization Process

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Data on hydrodynamics of carbon dioxide in shock tube can be presented as a main opportunity to apprehend and establish sterilization treatment process.

Shock accelerated vortex ring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The interaction of a shock wave with a spherical density inhomogeneity leads to the development of a vortex ring through the impulsive deposition of baroclinic vorticity.
