Thermal Shifts Dominate Single‐Gene Responses to Transcription‐Targeting Antibiotics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Thermal shifts reshape bacterial responses to transcription‐targeting antibiotics. In E. coli, temperature can dominate antibiotic‐induced genome‐wide expression, particularly outside 30°C–39°C, through changes in adenosine triphosphate (ATP), nucleoid organization, and drug‐target engagement.

Metal nanostructure‐coupled label‐free localized surface plasmon resonance biosensors for rapid and sensitive disease diagnosis

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
LSPR biosensing enables rapid, sensitive, and low‐sample‐volume detection of biomarkers, with broad applications in diagnosing cancer, infectious, and chronic diseases. Advances in nanostructure design, micro/nanofabrication, and microfluidic integration have expanded the potential of LSPR sensors in biomedical diagnostics.

A narrow bandgap Schottky heterojunction Fe2N/CeO2 microneedle triggering sonodynamic reactive oxygen species storm for drug‐resistance‐free skin fungal infection

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Inorganic sonosensitizers suffer from inefficient electron‐hole separation, rapid recombination, and wide bandgaps in anti‐fungal applications. We propose MN@Fe2N/CeO2 to directly eliminate fungi without drug resistance. Combining semiconductor CeO2's advantages with Fe2N's high work function and activity enables efficient Schottky heterojunctions ...

Shock wave instability and the carbuncle phenomenon: same intrinsic origin ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The theoretical linear stability of a shock wave moving in an unlimited homogeneous environment has been widely studied during the last fifty years. Important results have been obtained by Dyakov (1954), Landau & Lifchitz (1959) and then by Swan & Fowles

External Acoustic Meatus Approach for Ultrasonographic Evaluation of the Temporomandibular Joint: An Anatomical Validation and Proof‐of‐Concept Study

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) represent a public health problem, affecting 31% of adults and the elderly and 11% of children and adolescents. Interest is growing in using ultrasound to evaluate the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). However, researchers need to standardize a reliable method.

Calcified Plaque Detachment: Alternative Calcified Plaque Modification After Coronary Intravascular Lithotripsy

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Calcified plaque (CP) detachment (CD) and calcium fracture (CF) can occur following coronary intravascular lithotripsy (IVL). The extent to which CF alone facilitates stent expansion during CP modification with IVL remains unclear. Aims This study aimed to investigate the clinical implications of IVL‐induced CD.

EXTRA-CORPOREAL SHOCK WAVE LITHOTRIPSY (ESWL)

open access: yesUrology Research and Practice, 2019
Introduction: The advent of lithotripsy began a new era in therapy for urinary calculus disease. Shock waves are characterized by a high pressure front consisting of multiple, nonlinear low frequency waves that have a rapid initial rise and a gradual ...
