Characterization of Binder Materials from Lithium Ion Batteries by Fingerprint Analysis with Pyrolysis‐Gas Chromatography‐Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a pyrolysis‐gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (PY‐GC‐MS) method for characterizing binder materials from complex lithium ion battery (LIB) samples. Multishot pyrolysis is used to analyze electrolyte components, solid electrolyte interphase (SEI)‐related products and binder materials. Changes of the pyrolysis fingerprints of state‐

Advanced Image‐Integrated Smart Windows using Printed Electrochromic Polymer‐Dispersed Liquid Crystal Droplets

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents printed image‐integrated smart windows that simultaneously control color and transmittance using electrochromic polymer‐dispersed liquid crystals (ECPDLCs). By optimizing the electrochromic LC composition and refining the drop‐on‐demand printing process, precise image integration and dynamic optical control are achieved.

Illuminating Quantum Phenomena in 2D Materials: The Power of Optical Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Atomically thin 2D materials host quantum tunnelling, plasmonic and excitonic phenomena driven by reduced dimensionality and strong many‐body interactions. This review links these effects to state‐of‐the‐art optical probes—NSOM, pump–probe, CARS, TRR, and optical frequency comb spectroscopy—highlighting how their ultrahigh spatial–temporal resolution ...

Synergistic Effect of Compositional Engineering and Graded Heterojunction Formation in Tin‐Halide Perovskites for Near‐Infrared Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The compositional engineering of Sn‐halide perovskite with alkylammonium chloride, combined with graded heterojunction formation using fullerene, is shown to significantly enhance crystallinity and reduce trap densities. Consequently, the resulting photodetectors achieve a 63.4% external quantum efficiency and a specific detectivity of 1.38 × 1011 ...
