Short‐term traffic flow prediction based on AST‐MTL‐CNN‐GRU

open access: yesIET Intelligent Transport Systems, 2023
To address the current objective of short‐term traffic flow prediction on roads, this paper aims to predict not only the future traffic flow on roads, but also the average speed of future roads. Specifically, the authors propose a short‐term traffic flow

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

A neural network model for short term river flow prediction [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, 2006
This paper presents a model using rain gauge and weather radar data to predict the runoff of a small alpine catchment in Austria. The gapless spatial coverage of the radar is important to detect small convective shower cells, but managing such a huge ...

Ultra-Short-Term Prediction of Wind Power Based on Error Following Forget Gate-Based Long Short-Term Memory

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
To improve the accuracy of ultra-short-term wind power prediction, this paper proposed a model using modified long short-term memory (LSTM) to predict ultra-short-term wind power.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

A method for foF2 short-term prediction

open access: yesPhysics and Chemistry of the Earth, Part C: Solar, Terrestrial & Planetary Science, 2000
A method for foF2 short-term prediction with 1–24 hour lead times is proposed. It is based on ΔfoF2 (deviation of hourly foF2 from running median) regression with the previous ΔfoF2 observations and hourly spline-interpolated daily Ap index. An optimum training time interval of 25–30 days, which is close to one solar rotation, has been revealed.

Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

A machine learning model for hub-height short-term wind speed prediction

open access: yesNature Communications
Accurate short-term wind speed prediction is crucial for maintaining the safe, stable, and efficient operation of wind power systems. We propose a multivariate meteorological data fusion wind prediction network (MFWPN) to study fine-grid vector wind ...
