Impact of the Short-Circuit Current Value on the Operation of Overhead Connections in High-Voltage Power Stations

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
This paper focuses on determining the effects of short-circuit current values on the operation of high-voltage substations. The analyses performed focused on the dynamic and thermal effects on the short-circuit current for different input data ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Novel power distribution short‐circuit testing technique based on supercapacitor and modular multi‐ports AC/DC conversion

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2023
With the growing capacity of the distribution network, the probability of short circuit accidents gradually increases. Accidents such as deformation of distribution transformer windings, shift of laminations, fracture and even explosion of mechanical and

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Characteristics of Short-Circuit Current in Distribution Network with Doubly-Fed Wind Power System

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao, 2023
The doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is connected to the distribution network as a distributed power source, which turns a radial single power supply system into a dual power supply system and changes the topology of the distribution network. When a

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Influence of Short‐Circuit Current Nonperiodic Component Increasing on Radial Dynamic Stability of Power Transformer Winding Under Reclosing

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
As one of the key main equipment of the power system, the transformer directly affects the safe and reliable operation of the system. In the process of transformer reclosing, the internal electromagnetic environment is obviously different from that of ...

Targeting transcription factors associated with hemoglobinopathies: Lessons from successful interventions and implications for cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the transcription factors, repressive chromatin‐modifying complexes, and epigenetic mechanisms that control fetal hemoglobin repression. Notably, many regulators of γ‐globin silencing also function in transcriptional and epigenetic networks that drive cancer, highlighting opportunities to translate advances in hemoglobinopathy ...
